Jack smiles as the rest of the kids come down, sitting around the small circle we formed. "Who's ready?"
Cheers echo around the basement as I glance at Marcus. "Want to play?"
He shrugs. "Why not?"
I smile and turn back to Jack. "Who's first?"
He smirks. "I'll spin."
The room quiets down as he spins, everyone's eyes tracking the bottle's movement.
Marcus leans over to whisper in my ear. "Is it always this quiet?"
I shake my head. "Never. "
He pauses and I smile at him. "You think there are some kids who have a crush on each other or something like that?"
"Probably."
The bottle stops in front of Jack's girlfriend and she blushes, gently kissing him on the lips. He deepens the kiss and the kids around us laugh.
Marcus sighs. "Get a room, guys."
I bite back a laugh as Jack sighs, removing his lips from hers. "You're just jealous."
He sighs. "Can't argue with that."
Alex smiles as his friend Toby hands the bottle over to Marcus. "Well, then have a go."
Marcus flushes and I grin. "Don't hold up the game, Marxus."
He sighs and spins the bottle, landing on my friend Paige. She blushes and he leans forward, gently kissing her on the cheek.
He pulls away and she giggles."He's a good kisser..."
I laugh, grinning at Marcus. "You're a good kisser.."
He glares at me. "Shut up."
I sigh."You don't have manners though."
Paige takes her turn and lands on Peter and he eagerly leans forward.
I bite back a laugh and she leans forward, kissing him on the lips.
I glance at Marcus. "Shame they probably won't remember this."
"Is it really? I don't want to be hit on."
I glance back at the circle as the next kid takes their turn. "The football player who doesn't want to be hit on? That's a first."
He pauses. "I'll make sure whoever you kiss remembers it."
"You better not..."
"I will."
Paige smiles at me. "You're turn."
My eyes widen and Marcus grins. "Who will be the lucky one?"
I sigh, spinning the bottle, landing on Alex from the football team. He smiles and I gently kiss him on the cheek.
Marcus smiles. "Alex will remember."
I sigh. "Don't remind me."
He smirks. "That's no fun."
I laugh, pausing as I get a message from Saige. "Shit."
Marcus meets my eyes. "What?"
I quickly type out a response. "My ride isn't feeling well and I don't know anyone else here."
"Did you tell her that?"
I nod as she replies. "She insists I stay."
Marcus smiles. "I won't leave you alone if you choose to stay."
I pause. "Really?"
He nods. "Yeah. It's fun annoying you. I also have to keep Alex from forgetting."
I glare at him."You're extremely annoying."
He laughs."Unless you want to be alone..."
"You win."
He smiles as I quickly text Saige back again to feel better and I'll be fine.
Marcus glances at me. "Ready for more time watching kids kiss?"
I put my phone in my pocket. "Yup."
I pass the bottle onto the next kid, glancing at Marcus through the corner of my eye. This isn't so bad after all.
