Liu Yang's pov:
"Wei Ying." Lan WangJi approached his husband with his arms opened.
"HanGuangJun!" The juniors greet him in unison.
Wu Xian whirled himself around. "There you are Lan Zhan!" He smiled his (appropriately dubbed) sunshine smile (by a very drunk WangJi one night) and ran up to WangJi to hug him too. He then grabbed WangJi's face and smashed their lips together.
Everyone who was unfortunate to witness the interaction between the couple blushed violently (or in Jin Ling's case, gagged). Even Liu Yang was stunned. Sure, she'd met cut-sleeves in her life before, but she'd never met any so bold.
Meanwhile Liu Yang faintly heared someone fainting in the background. But decided to ignore it, even as two men rush over and take away a passed out Lan QiRen.
When the couple parted, WangJi humed at the shorter man. WuXian nodded, "Thank you Lan Zhan, I almost forgot to tell you two." He turned to Jin Ling and ZiZhen. "The reason I brought you two here was--"
("Because you had nothing better to do and decided to disrupt the rest of us who have work to do." Mumbled Jin Ling. )
"--because XiChen-ge was thinking of coming out HanShi later this evening!" WuXian smiled brightly.
He went on, "It's been months since he's seen you two! I bet he'll be happy to see you again! We should celebrate, we need to celebrate. "
He turned to HanGuang Jun, "Lan Zhan, should I ask the cooks to whip up something special for all of us? Maybe we could hold a small party?"
WangJi didn't get the choice to reply as WuXian continued to talk everyone's ears off, "Don't worry, I promise I'll only invite our closest of friends and the bunnies. We'll keep the party small and--"
WangJi huffed a breath, and gave WuXian a look.
The man (with undiagnosed ADHD) nodded, "You're right, you're right. It's too soon, we want to welcome XiChen-ge, not scare him off. Maybe a small gathering where we have tea instead?"
WangJi gave the smallest of smiles and nodded, "Mn. Brother would like that."
"And Liu Yang can join us."
Liu Yang had not expected to be apart of the conversation. She should have out of Cloud Recesses and off the mountain moments ago.
Really though, the real reason was:
1) She knew that ever since Lan Sect Leader, Lan XiChen, went into seclusion; the whole of Cloud Recesses turned upside down overnight.2) She had no right to be apart of the Lan family's very rare, and very precious time together. She was a cultivator with no clan, and no money to her name.
3) Liu Yang was grossly unworthy to be in Lan XiChen's presence.
Liu Yang so desperately wanted to meet Lan XiChen ever since she'd first heard about him. He was kind, and smart and charming. And so very gentle with everything and everyone.
(And if she did get to meet him, she'd boast to everyone she would pass by about it until the whole of China knew.)
It was truly a shame of what was left of the First Jade of Lan after the incident of GuanYin Temple. The incident hat sent the entire cultivation world (the whole of China really) into uproar.
And how news of Lan XiChen deciding to go in seclusion had shocked everyone, and no doubt spread false rumours.
"...Actually, I'm feeling a lot better now. It's best that I get going--" Liu Yang turned to leave, to go back to the room she had woken up in and gather her belongings and be on her way.
Lan JingYi stopped her, "You don't have a choice. Senior Wei will make you join us either way. It's best if you just agree to come."
Liu Yang pondered about this, berating herself that the side of her that wanted to meet Sect Leader Lan in person was overriding her common sense.
She turned to Wei WuXian, "Are you sure? I wouldn't want to ruin your family time, especially if Sect Leader Lan will be there..." She muttered the last part to herself.
WuXian smiled and patted her shoulder. "Nonsense! XiChen-ge would love to meet you!"
Liu Yang wanted to argue that she 'really shouldn't come along' or 'She was just some rogue cultivator' or 'But I stink of blood!' but WuXian was already dragging her towards the direction of HanShi.
