Liu Yang's Pov:

Present time...

When she had first woken up, Liu Yang was startled to find herself in a plain room. The furniture, bed and wall were all white and lacked vibrant colours.

Later on, she had left the room she woke up in and was amazed to see lush trees. The serene atmosphere had instantly made her feel calm. She knew that wherever she was, no harm would come to her.

She had seen a group of disciples walk along the walkway across the room from hers. The disciples were all dress in white, with insignias of blue clouds on them.

The disciples walked past with ramrod postures and humble expressions. She was confused to see another group of much younger disciples, aged between five to ten, walkimg past her room in the same manner.

It was a true feat to tame such young children, even if it might lead to some consequences in the future.

The small disciples all managed to make minimal noise. Even their footsteps were silent.

Liu Yang realised soon enough that there was only one clan capable of doing such a thing.

"I'm in Cloud Recesses."

Fastforward an hour, WuXian entered the room she rested in. Liu Yang was back on the bed after another dizzy spell washed over her.

WuXian placed a hand to her forehead, which she didn't resist. She was a guest after all, and she knew he didn't wish to harm her.

He sighed, relieved that Liu Yang didn't have a fever (or no longer had one, he didn't say).

"...and so after Madam Gāo died, her servants stole every precious belonging she owned. From clothes, to furniture and to jewellry, they took it all." He explained about Gāo Mansion.

"Some of the servants must have thought that selling these items would bring them great fortune. And indeed it did. But a month after, these servants all died tragically, and the people who bought the Madam's items were attacked by her ghost."

WuXian explained to Liu Yang.

Madam Gāo's spirit had remained and haunted the mansion. Around midnight for the past months, she would visit every house where her belongings were sold to and steal them back.

She would then leave the house, but not before leaving something for the residents to remember her by (her loud wailing and three-clawed gash).

Liu Yang shook her head, rubbing her face, "What a vile woman. Glad she's dead." WuXian gave her a weird look for her blunt choice of words. She ignored his look, her body still lethargic from her blood loss to give a damn about manners and what not.

Speaking of, she ran a hand gently over her abdomen and was thankful to feel bandages wrapped around her torso.

"I'll take my leave now, Liu Yang." Apparently, Bing Wen had told the other Cultivators her name, before she was brought to Cloud Recesses to seek aid.

Liu Yang hummed. WuXian walked up to the door, "If you're up for it, you can join me and Lan Zhan at the back mountains and play with the bunnies."

WuXian put up a hand, stopping Liu Yang from saying anything, "And yes before you ask, pets are still forbidden at Cloud Recesses."

He gave a playful wink that made Liu Yang smile, "But Old Master Lan has no control over me anymore."

Liu Yang smiled, and huffed a laugh, "I'll think about it."
