x talk x

Like the rest of the house, Jotaro's room was simple. There was just a small table in the middle of it with two cushions sitting on either side. He must have been anticipating Kakyoin coming, but not you. He got up and grabbed another cushion from his closet, tossing it at you.

You fumbled with it before you caught it in both arms, then set it down on the floor next to Kakyoin. Jotaro sat on the other side of you two. There was already his study materials neatly laid out on the table- a textbook, a notebook, a pencil case, and a laptop. Kakyoin reached in his book bag and pulled out his material too, laying them on the table in front of Jotaro's.You had nothing to take out, though, as you left your book bag at home, so you just sat there awkwardly, fidgeting with your fingers.

Jotaro suddenly spoke. "I said I wasn't going to tell you, but...since that guy has your friend, I guess you have to be in on this too, even though you're not a stand user."

"So she is possessed!" you exclaimed. "I knew-"

"Will you let me goddamn finish?"

"Oh, yeah, sorry," you squeaked, returning your gaze back down to your hands.

He sighed before continuing. "I'm sure Kakyoin has already explained stands to you, so I won't do any unnecessary talk. Basically the stranger you saw that night was a stand user. I don't think his stand possesses people. My theory is that it's more of a mind control element."

"And why do you think that?" Kakyoin asked.

"I've come into contact with these so-called possessed people multiple times. When I first encountered one, I thought it was the stand user but after I was done beating the sh*t out of them, they woke up and didn't know what was going on. This kept happening with all of the people who have attacked me recently. And once...it seemed like he possessed a whole group at the same time. Since we know a person can't have multiple stands, I think it's something else."

"Understood," Kakyoin hummed. "And you've never actually seen his stand before?"

"No," he said, "But I have no doubt he's a stand user."

You quietly listened to the two boys' conversation, afraid of getting scolded again if you tried to contribute. At the same time, this was the first time you'd ever heard Jotaro talk, and his voice was actually quite nice. If it stayed low like this, it could probably put you to sleep.

"Y/N, what do you think?" Kakyoin asked you.

You froze. You had zoned out for the past couple of minutes, so you didn't know if they changed the subject or not. "Uh, I think..." you held your head in your hands, suddenly feeling really tired. You just wanted to go home, for this whole situation to be a dream. "I think it just... all sounds scary."

"Of course it would," Kakyoin gently said, placing a hand on your shoulder. "But don't worry. We'll save your friend."

You glanced over to Jotaro, who had seemingly gone back to studying. "Really? You guys can do that?"
