Akasuki slid her books into her bags as she stood up to face the boys,
“see you next week.”
“Hang on,” Tetsurō called.
Akasuki glanced at him. What now? Did she do something wrong?
“What ya doing this weekend?” Tetsurō asked with a grin.
This weekend, what was she doing? Her eyes suddenly lit up as she tried to contain her smile. It’s stupid but she couldn’t help it. She went to speak but Sō beat her to it,
“that’s a boyfriend smile!”
Boyfriend smile? That’s a thing? Akasuki shook her head immediately, slight embarrassment taking over as she corrected him,
“new book release tomorrow. I’ve been waiting two years to find out what actually happened to Lau, I don’t even know if she’s alive or what, it’s,” she paused staring at their faces of confusion before her, “sorry, I got excited.”
She noticed the distant eyes of Kenma as he waited behind Kuroo. So distracting. Morisuke reached over to pat her shoulder,
“that’s the most you have said in front of us all.”
Her eyes widened, right, she hardly spoke when they were in group meetings. It was always Morisuke or Tetsurō she spoke most to.
“Sorry,” Akasuki chuckled awkwardly.
“No, no, it’s good,” Morisuke insisted, he paused to look at the others turning back to her, “are you on about acid lake?”
Wait, her mouth dropped open at the recognition from him,
“how,”
Morisuke brought his finger up to his lips with a sly smile stepping back. This boy, he reads acid lake too? Oh my god, that’s amazing. Tetsurō cleared his throat slinging his bag over his shoulder pulling his phone out of his pocket seemingly uninterested in their book talk,
“give me your handles, I’ll stay in touch.”
Her cheeks blurred pink,
“really?”
Tetsurō nodded watching Akasuki pull out her phone. She wondered if this was normal, or he just felt sorry for her. She handed him her phone, Tetsurō swiping through typing multiple things.
“Hey, me too!” Sō whined snatching Akasuki’s phone from Tetsurō.
His eyes lifted to glare at him loosening his grip,
“Akasuki, are you okay with it?”
She nodded; it wasn’t like she had a choice. One by one the boys started to leave their details in Akasuki’s phone. This was a different feeling. Yūki handed her the phone back with a soft smile. A feeling similar to acceptance. She slid it into her pockets, glancing over to Kenma playing who had now found an interest in his own phone. She didn’t see him type anything. Maybe he isn’t much of a talker online either. Akasuki left to fulfil her weekend of self-entertainment.
