Returning to school had been odd for Akasuki. She had to break of her usual routine of attending gym every morning, heading straight to class, later than anyone else to avoid the others. She was accompanied by Damien, two thirds of the time and Rei, for the other third. It was a constant loop. Even when she managed to bump into the boys, no one every recognised her existence. This is what she wanted. Right? Damien wrapped his arm over her shoulder, as he listened closely to his friends laugh amongst one another,
“that’s ridiculous, how did you get away with it?”
Damien shrugged, Akasuki looking up to him, it’s strange.
“You actually straight up broke his fingers,”
Damien shrugged again; she could tell he was becoming bored of this conversation. It was too obvious to her yet, she glanced back to his friends, they weren’t getting the hints. She poked at the abomination of food before her sighing under her breath. She wanted real food. Not this shitty food from the school cafeteria.
“You don’t like it?” Damien asked tutting.
She shrugged weakly murmuring,
“I’m not that hungry.”
Damien’s lips parted but his voice wasn’t the one she heard,
“It’s not like you need the extra food,” what?
Her eyes shot to the pair of boys before her reaching over to grab her food,
“we’ll take it!”
Did they seriously say what she thought they did? Without thinking, she felt hey body react, and as she next opened her eyes, she was clenching the fork, fangs in the table millimetres from the boy's fingers. What, what happened to her? She went to release the fork but a large hand clamped around hers, Damien’s voice filling her ears,
“I'll help,” he wrenched the fork from the wood, what is he planning, moving it to hover over the boy’s hand lowering it to the skin, “think about what you said,” the fork slowly met his skin, the boy laughing in attempt to play it off yet as Akasuki turned to Damien, his face was stone cold.
He’s going to go through with it and drag her into it too. She resisted against his grip,
“stop,” the boys face was becoming worrisome at Akasuki’s retaliation, why isn’t he listening, “Damien,” the thumping of her heart was blocking out every small sound, “stop it, come on,”
“Dude come on! It was a joke!”
His expression was dead serious as he pressed down further, Akasuki’s fingers becoming numb under his grip. Holy fuck. The boy began to wince, another one to add to the list of people she hated. No. She brought her free hand up, colliding with Damien’s cheek, teeth gritted, face red, Akasuki growled helplessly,
“I said stop.”
Damien’s face twitched momentarily, a grip suddenly appearing, letting go of her hand around the fork. Thank god. He turned his full attention to her,
“thank god, I thought you were going to sit there and deal with it,” what?
He did that on purpose? He chuckled,
“I love your reactions.”
Fuck him, Akasuki thought sliding from the table, fuck him massively. She, needed a breath of air. She stormed off, every sound returning to her. As she burst through the door into the courtyard, Akasuki couldn’t help but wonder why she reacted like that. Fuck, she brushed her hair back into a low pony, this was insane.
“Eh, Suki,” a voice spoke out, hm?
She lifted her head, expecting to see Damien or one of his minions. Yet, the one that had spoken her name was,
“Tora?”
He smiled weakly giving a short wave,
“hi.”
What was she meant to say? Hi? Hello? How are you? How are the others? Nome of that.
“Are you okay?” Tora asked glancing around anxiously.
Once more. What was she meant to say?
“Um,” he rubbed his neck stepping closer to her slowly, “I heard about what happened,” what happened?
A lot has happened so he needs to be specific.
“Ah it doesn’t matter,” he insisted reaching her, why is he so close? “Suki,” what?
Tora reached his hand out against the wall behind her head, lowering his head close to her face, whispering,
“you don’t hate us, do you?”
Hate ‘us'? Who was us? Without pausing Tora had almost connected his lips to hers stopping just before,
“I could’ve, taken care of you,” what is he doing?
Her palms shot out hitting his chest,
“Tora, cut it out!”
He staggered back with a smile,
“sorry Suki, I got carried away,” carried away?
What is he on about? Her eyes fell behind Tora to Rei. Holy shit. If she tells Damien, she’s, in deep shit. Let alone her, Tora’s in deep shit.
“Can you go away?” Akasuki snapped, “can’t I have peace and quiet for once?”
“You heard her,” her eyes widened.
Damien.
“Hah,” Tora scoffed, Akasuki glanced to the door she had left through, Damien was leaning against the doorframe smirking, “should’ve known you’d be close behind.”
“What kind of boyfriend would I be if I let her wander off?” Damien remarked coolly, “boys like you might take that in the wrong way.”
Huh? He held out his hand,
“Akasuki, come here,” she started to move yet Tora unexpectedly grabbed her shoulder.
“Don’t make me regret doing this Suki” Tora warned.
What the fuck is he on about? His whole personality has changed. And not just that,
“are you threatening me?” Akasuki questioned harshly.
His eyes narrowed,
“and if I am?”
Damien had stepped away from the doorway storming towards Tora, no way. Akasuki held up her hand to him,
“you think I’m that weak I can’t handle one guy?”
Damien came to a halt, hands on hips,
“not at all,” in truth, she just wanted Damien to fuck off.
She didn’t want Tora getting hurt. Not by him. She turned to Tora, brushing his hand from her shoulder, how should she do this in a way for Damien to feel satisfied? She lifted her hands to Tora’s chest, taking handfuls of his shirt,
“what don’t you understand about the words, fuck off?”
Tora met her pretend crazy eyes, slowly blinking at her as he lifted his hand to brush the hair behind her ears, muttering,
“I know you don’t mean it.”
Hm, was that right? She didn’t know she meant anymore. She dropped her fists, patting his chest as she stepped away. It wasn’t worth it. She didn’t want to keep angering him. Damien and Tora. She turned to Damien, walking to meet him,
“let’s go.”
Damien smirked as he pulled Akasuki into his arms,
“I would’ve preferred a couple of broken bones myself,” he shrugged pulling Akasuki towards the door, “you're lucky mate!”
Lucky? Lucky how? He’s extremely unlucky. He needs to close his eyes from the world she lives in.
