Akasuki laid amongst Kenma, time becoming a distant reality in comparison to the dream she was living in, his chest rising as his heart thumped along a specific timeline. She liked this, it felt like she could give everything up just to stay like this for eternity. However, Akasuki was starving herself of the reality they truly lived? Who knew if this was to be the last time, they were like this. She lifted her heavy head sadly gazing at Kenma, furrowed eyes staring back at her, how long has he been staring at her? Her cheeks flushing crimson as she smiled in attempt to ease the awkwardness, this isn't working. She watched as Kenma's lips twitched at the edges before he managed to return a sincere smile causing butterflies to stir her nerve. Holy shit. Does he know how much damage he does with that smile? Akasuki wasn't sure how long she could handle it. Suddenly the door flew open, Tatsuo opening his mouth, oh fuck. Akasuki clumsily lifted her hands to cover Kenma's ears as he yelled at the top of his lungs,

"Mum's home!"

Yep, well done Tatsuo, they got the message. Akasuki glared at Tatsuo ushering him out as she closed the door hastily turning to Kenma's paled expression, wait. Akasuki could remember the time she was at his and he insisted she climbed out of the window, hm, maybe it was time for some sweet revenge. Akasuki's mouth suddenly dropped as she scrambled off the bed trying to hide her smirk,

"you gotta go," she grabbed his bag holding it out to his chest, "she's gonna kill me if she finds out you're here," is this gonna work?

She watched as Kenma scampered from the bed, panic spreading through him as he stood there looking around frantically. The window, Akasuki pointed to the window brushing the curtain aside,

"you gotta climb out," she insisted.

He's not going to fall for it, he wouldn't, right? Kenma nodded as he held the curtain up, his hair falling over his eyes glancing out of the window, wait, he pushed the window open lifting his leg to climb out, oh god, he's gonna actually do it. She grabbed his arm,

"Kenma," pulling him away from the window, his eyes staring at her in confusion, "I'm joking, it's a joke, you don't need to do that."

His expression tightened as he scoffed lightly realising what has happened,

"I deserved that."

She chuckled moving towards the door,

"maybe just a little," she pulled it open holding out her hand to him, "come on, I'll introduce you, properly."

Come on, please don't back out now. Kenma reached out, sliding his fingers around her hand, fire spreading into her fingers, this is crazy. He joined her side, it feels real. No, no, stop, she shouldn't be getting her hopes up, fuck, if this keeps going on, her feelings will no longer be anchored. She led him down the stairs, hopefully this goes well if not then. Actually. She didn't want even want to think what would happen if it didn't. They reached the kitchen where distant chuckles were coming from. Akasuki glanced in to see her mother speaking to the boys with a large smile on her face and theirs, alright, she can do this. She reluctantly slipped her hand from Kenma's moving forward with her arms out to her mother,

"hey mum."

Her mother lifted her eyes to meet hers pulling her into her gentle embrace,

"hey darling," pulling away, her eyes fluttered behind to Kenma stood awkwardly in the doorway, "who's this?"

Come on, Akasuki glanced at Kenma, her cheeks blushing,

"this is,"

"They've been up there for a while," Reiji exclaimed interrupting Akasuki, what?

Tatsuo nodded rapidly beside Reiji. They're actually snitches. Akasuki shoved the pair of them, lightly scowling as her face burned,

"this is,"

"The mystery boy?" her mother exclaimed with a smirk, right.

Akasuki nodded noticing the redness in Kenma's face,

"who has a name, which is," she paused, "Kenma."

Kenma lifted his hand shifting from foot to foot, his eyes switching from Akasuki to her mother, he's so nervous, a quiet voice forming as he spoke,

"it's, nice to meet you, Mrs Au."

Mrs Au, that must make her feel old. Akasuki stifled a laugh, Kenma confused at Akasuki's actions.

"It's nice to finally meet you too Kenma," her mother spoke keeping a smile on her face, "are you staying for dinner?"

Dinner? She had completely forgotten to offer him any sort of refreshment earlier. Kenma shrugged rubbing his neck,

"I should go."

Really? Akasuki pouted sadly,

"it'd be nice if you stayed."

Their eyes met, his face growing red as he nodded shortly,

"okay."

Wow, he was persuaded easily, he's actually staying. Her mother's smile turned into a grin,

"I brought food so if you just take a seat, I'll get everything sorted."

Akasuki joined Kenma's side, this is gonna be fun, leading him into the dining room taking a seat at the table, leaning over into Kenma, whispering,

"thank you for staying."

Kenma smiled loosely at her, a smile was good enough for her.

"So, Kenma," Reiji spoke clenching his hands over the table glancing at Tatsuo who slowly copied him, "what are your intentions with our sister?"

What? Akasuki swallowed the air choking as she tried to take a deep breath glaring at Reiji,

"what? Where? And why?"

Where did he pick that up from?

"Kuroo and the others," Tatsuo claimed with a guilty grin.

Of course, she shouldn't have expected anyone else. Reiji glared at him before turning back to Kenma,

"so?"

Akasuki couldn't help but be as curious as the boys. Kenma glanced at Akasuki, his gaze weakening as he registered her intrigue, his lips moving slowly as he spoke,

"it depends what hers are with me."

What? Her mouth dropped open, heat flushing through her body, is he serious? She furrowed her brows, what does that even mean? Why is he being so, unclear? She lowered her gaze to the table, what were her intentions with him?

"So?" Reiji spoke up, "sis, what are they?"

What were they?

"it depends what his are with me," Akasuki muttered glancing at Kenma. She wasn't one who enjoyed misty days that prevented her from seeing her arm reaching out before her. She had spent months finding her way through misty paths, but now she standing before another. Another whose path was also blurred. Who was the last one she had met along her paths? Tadashi? No. Someone else. Someone distant. Not the one before her now. She caught his golden eyes watching her. Right. She clenched her fists under the table to ground fix the face before her. This was Kenma. He won't be the same as him.
