It was almost midnight when the two tired boys stumbled into Hinata's living room. Hinata's mom-Yume Hinata- immediately jumped up from the couch looking worried out of her mind and hurried to the two.

"Hinata! Oh, I was so worried!" She exclaimed pulling Hinata into a tight hug and kissing his forehead. Hinata seemingly melted into her and sighed contentedly hugging her back. The warmth of his mother's arms felt so wonderful and he just wanted to fall asleep in them. He almost did until Yamaguchi's bloodied face flashed behind his closed eyes. He immediately opened them and pulled away from the hug turning to the green-haired boy who was staring at the ground quietly.

"Yama, I'm so sorry! Mom, this is Yamaguchi, I called you, remember?" Hinata asked stepping to Yamaguchi's side trying to make him somewhat comfortable. He couldn't fathom how scary all this must be. Being yanked from a shit household and then dropped into the middle of a warm one, probably feeling extremely out of place. Yume turned to Yamaguchi and her eyes widened at the sight of his underfed body and bruised face.

"Oh! Hinata! You didn't tell me he was hurt!" She scolded with a cutting look in Hinata's direction. Hinata smiled sheepishly and deflated slightly.

"Sorry, Mama..." He apologized. She sighed and pulled Yamaguchi towards her. Hinata and Yume both saw the way Yamaguchi flinched and went to pull away before realizing and standing still. She cupped his face examining the cuts carefully. Hinata watched silently, dropping his bag to the floor and hanging his coat on the hooks Yume had hammered into the wall.

"Hinata, go put your and Yamaguchi's bags in your room. Let's clean you up dear," Yume ordered before softening her tone and smiling warmly at Yamaguchi. Hinata nodded and glanced back to make sure Yamaguchi wasn't in any trouble. His mother knew how to handle panic attacks since Hinata himself had them, but he couldn't help but worry about the green-haired boy. Yamaguchi happened to be looking over his shoulder as well and the twos eyes met. Yamaguchi smiled hesitantly at Hinata before disappearing into the kitchen with Yume. Hinata sighed and sprinted up the stairs. Yamaguchi would be fine.

Hinata passed his little sister's room and the bathroom before reaching his bedroom at the end of the hall. He opened the door and dropped their bags on his cluttered desk. Hinata looked around his room and worried about how it looked.

He actually worried about how his room looked.

The same boy who threw his homework and clothes all over the place. Who, if he actually cleaned the place, would find things he lost years ago. Hinata groaned and flopped onto his bed. This was definitely Yamaguchi's fault. Hinata flipped around in bed and laid on it in a starfish position. After a few minutes of every thought circling back to Yamaguchi and what he would think of the room Hinata sat up in bed and grabbed his towel. It would do him no good to sit here and worry. Showers always calmed him down. It was nice to stand under a stream of warm water just existing for a few minutes. Or an hour. Whatever he had time for.

When the tangerine came back to his room from his shower he was expecting to find Yamaguchi standing awkwardly in his room not knowing what to do. Instead, his room was empty. No sweet green-haired boy was in there. Hinata looked around the hallway in confusion before hanging up his towel and making his way down the stairs.

"Mama, Where's Yama?" Hinata asked walking into the kitchen, with one hand threading through his wet hair. Yume looked at her son and smiled. She nodded at the back door.

"Well, Yamaguchi spotted some shooting stars out there and went out to see them. Pretty rare," She answered with a smile in her voice. Hinata looked out there before absent-mindedly nodding at Yume. He pushed open the back door and stepped out into the chilly night air.

"Yama?" Hinata called jumping off the steps and walking across the lawn towards him. Yamaguchi turned towards him and Hinata stopped walking. He looked absolutely gorgeous. The shooting stars reflected in his big dark eyes and the wind swirling its fingers through his hair. Hinata really didn't think he could fall more in love with Yamaguchi, but he was proved wrong.

"Hinata you look nice," Yamaguchi said moving towards Hinata. A blush climbed to Hinata's cheeks at the compliment. Hinata quickly covered the short distance left between the two and stood beside Yamaguchi.

"Thanks. You look great, without all that blood on your face," Hinata said, rambling. Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow playfully before turning his face back to the sky.

"Isn't it pretty? Shooting stars are really rare," Yamaguchi whispered. Hinata turned his gaze towards the sky. It was pretty, stars streaking across the sky leaving blazing white trails behind. It might have been the prettiest thing he ever saw, but there was one person who would always be prettier than anything else in the world. A green-haired, starry-eyed freckled boy with a quiet personality.
