9-1-1 what's your emergency?
Don't think I can take it
Like some kind of  sadist
I think that he likes to see the pain in my eyes

Hinata and Yamaguchi walked down to the police station right after classes had ended. Yamaguchi had told himself repeatedly that it would be ok. That he was safe. He could finally leave that hell hole.

But now that both of them were standing in front of the station, his mind was blank. Fear rooted his feet to the ground. So much could go wrong. His uncle might somehow find out and drag him back before he could ever tell the police what was happening. They might not believe him. They would turn him away, telling him he was just lying. Yamaguchi stepped back trying to walk away but a hand slipped into his hand and held it tightly. Yamaguchi looked down at his hand and then up at the person. Hinata smiled at him and squeezed his hand.

"Come on Yama, it'll be ok. I'm right here," Hinata whispered tugging his hand again. Yamaguchi took a shaky breath and nodded, still a little hesitant. Hinata seemed to notice and didn't let go of Yamaguchi's hand once.

Through the entire thing, Hinata's hand stayed right where it was. Yamaguchi couldn't help but notice before they went inside how perfectly their hands seemed to fit together. Hinata's fingers laced through Yamaguchi's. When Yamaguchi was made to recount everything they'd ever done and he'd started crying at the memories. Hinata shifted closer so that their arms were pressed together. A silent reminder that he was right there.

"Ok, we've got your confession and this is enough for us to bring them in for questioning. Thank you for coming in...do you have somewhere to stay?" The police officer asked at the end.

He didn't have anywhere to stay. What would happen if he said that? Would they send him back to his aunt and uncle? Yamaguchi panicked and his chest constricted in fear.

"He's staying with me!" Hinata piped up from his side. Yamaguchi snapped his head to Hinata in surprise.

"I-I..." Yamaguchi wanted to protest but Hinata had already waved to the officer and was leading him out the door, still holding his hand.

"Hinata.," Yamaguchi said as he stopped walking. Hinata stopped and looked back puzzled.

"I don't want to bother your mom...I-I can stay at a hotel, I think I have enough money saved from my old job," Yamaguchi said trying to smile reassuringly. Hinata scowled at him.

"No way! My mom would be furious if she knew I let you sleep in a hotel. Besides, I would be up all night worrying about you! Not happening, you can stay with me," Hinata's voice was firm. Yamaguchi was surprised. It was then that Hinata finally realized that he was still clutching Yamaguchi's hand. His cheeks went red and he pulled away. Yamaguchi frowned slightly but didn't try to reach out. He forced his hand to his side and followed Hinata quietly.

Exhaustion finally seeped into Yamaguchi. Everything that had happened that day finally hitting him all at once. His limbs becoming heavy and his eyes drooping. Hinata didn't notice the lag in Yamaguchi's steps until he looked to his side and didn't see Yamaguchi.

Yamaguchi blinked the sleep out of his eyes and walked faster catching up to a panicking Hinata.

"Yama! I was so scared!" Hinata exclaimed hugging Yamaguchi's tightly. The tingling sensation that filled his entire body woke him up thoroughly.

"Yeah, sorry Hinata. Are we taking the bus?" Yamaguchi asked pointing to the bus stop ahead. Hinata seemed to ponder it and then shrugged.

"I would usually walk but it's really late so let's just take the bus," Hinata decided. Yamaguchi just nodded and smiled tiredly. They both sat down on the bench and waited for the bus to pull up to the stop. Yamaguchi felt himself drifting away again but snapped awake when the rumbling sound of the bus reached his ears. Hinata stood up and so did Yamaguchi. The bus stopped in front of them and the door opened with a hiss. Hinata looked to Yamaguchi expectantly not moving. Yamaguchi jumped when he realized that Hinata was waiting for him to enter. He muttered an apology and hurried onto the bus. The driver chuckled at Yamaguchi's red face which caused him to duck his head and turn even redder.

Yamaguchi hurried to the back of the bus and collapsed into a seat letting out a sigh. He just wanted to sleep...Hinata sat down beside him looking worried.

"Yama you ok? You look sick," Hinata said. Yamaguchi shook his head and smiled not finding it inside of him to speak. Hinata's eyes lingered but he didn't force Yamaguchi to answer. Yamaguchi was glad for that. He tried to stay awake but the steady sound and rhythmic movement of the bus lulled him to sleep within minutes. His eyes closed and he let out a breath allowing himself to fall into a deep sleep.
