My friends and I are looking around the cafeteria for a place to eat when we hear a loud screeching, P'Bright. "Hey, Nongs, you can sit here. We are done eating." Surprisingly, M responded, "I see. are you done eating? Thank you Very much." Bright smiles as turns to his friends, "hurry up and eat!, you too" I see that he is looking at P'Arthit. "All three of you. Won't you think about the kids? We should get up if we're done eating." I hear P'Prem ask, "wait. What does it have to do with me?" "Come on.." P'Prem raises his voice at P'Bright, "Ai'Bright, you're hoping for something in return, aren't you?" P'Arthit joins in and begins to point at P'Bright, "Stop right there. I know how your brain works. There is a thank you party coming up. You're bribing them to buy you gifts, right?" P'Bright face changes to defeat, "guys, you ruined my plan. Dammit. Nong M" "khrap, P'Bright?" "Two boxes of chocolate and if you can't find me, call me, okay?" "Alright, Phi." P'Bright yells out to his friends, "Get up. Come on!" I stifle a giggle when I heard P'Toota say, "He always wants something in return!"
P'Arthit is taking his time, so I approached him cautiously. What I didn't expect was him to say something to me, "Ah.. Kongpob" I can see he is visibly uncomfortable while trying to speak. I patiently wait for him to say whatever he needs to. "Are... are you free this Saturday?" Ugh... my heart... he is looking at me with such sincerity. "Khrap." He continued speaking through his embarrassment,
"I.. I have something that I want to buy and... if you are free, can you come with me?" He is avoiding my eyes as he speaks, and I couldn't hold back my smile anymore. I'm just so overjoyed that he overcame his own awkwardness to ask me out in public and not over text. "Of course." We are both sharing smiles at one another, "I'll see you at 11 am on Saturday, then." Before my rational brain could stop me I blurted out, "is this... considered a date?" I step closer to him.
