The thank-you party was getting nearer, so of course Bright is going around asking every First Year for gifts. How does he not have any humility? I am not one to really care for these types of occasions, but this time it's different.
I'm not going to say why.. because we already know who is the reason. I am currently sitting on his bed while he works on an assignment he received in class today. Turns out I really enjoy just watching him studying and working hard. I have a hard time focusing whenever he is in the room with me, plus he always starts poking me or asking questions or hovering... I am not like that I want him to focus solely on his classwork.
I have already scrolled through Instagram and Facebook, so I am a little bored. I normally bring over a book or two to read, but today's visit was spontaneous. We happened to meet outside of the engineering faculty while I was on my way to my dorm. Kongpob flat out asks me if I want to chill in his dorm. He has definitely gotten bolder the closer we become, but I don't mind it. It's nice to think about how he's changing who he is to keep up with my personality.
I'm not saying my personality is great. Which it's not. I'm quick to snap, easily embarrassed, hard to please, and always tired. Kongpob does tease me a lot but he has learned when to stops. Though, he hasn't learned to stop making me embarrassed. I think he gets a thrill out of me turning red...however, at the end of the day, I don't mind. This is how he shows he cares.
I heard a creaking coming from a floorboard, so when I looked up I see Kongpob trying to sneak over to me. I just smile, "why are you just standing there come over." He smiles and sits down beside me as he casually rests his head on my shoulder. This is the first time he has done this, so I was a little off guard. I soon settled into this closeness we share. "P'Arthit, thank you. I needed a little pick me up." "I know, you have worked tirelessly for a few hours. Aren't you hungry?" He moves his head slightly to look up at me, "I totally forgot! Why didn't you say anything! Aren't you hungry!" He quickly stands up and grabs me by the arm. "let's go pick something up! We can come back here to eat? What do you say?" "Of course".
We made it back to the dorm pretty swiftly because of the time. We were well past the dinner rush, so Auntie served us immediately. Of course, that meant we are eating fairly late at night. Kongpob was explaining to me the assignment he was restlessly working on. I never had to do an assignment on this topic before, I only remembered a few key points even though it was only a few years ago since I was a freshman. We Laughed when I couldn't even remember why knowing it was important. I have really come to enjoy listening to him talk, especially his laugh. It makes my heart flutter with butterflies. He always smiles with his eyes, so I know when he speaks it is genuine. I was thinking about all that while he was talking...
"P'Arthit? P? Ai'Oon?" "Huh? Kongpob, I told you not to call me that!" "You were not listening to me! I called you twice! Plus, the smile on your face says you didn't hate it when I called you by that name" he smiles like a Cheshire cat. "No way!" I give his leg a good kick under the table. "Ow! Phi..." "I'm going to clean-up then I'm going to head back to my place."
Kongpob got up from his seat and kneeled in front of me. "P'Arthit, do you want to just stay over? I promise I will wake you up and I'll have breakfast ready for you?" He's being unusually needy today, but seeing him pleading for me to stay is doing a lot to my heart. Those darn butterflies. "Kongpob... I don't know..." he reaches out his hands and places them onto mine. "I am not going to force you to do anything. If you don't feel comfortable, I understand." He smiles weakly and gets up as he fetches our empty plates.
I'm shocked by the vulnerability he just showed me. How many people have seen this side of him? My ears are definitely very warm, but so is my heart. I glanced over at Kongpob as he is busy cleaning our dishes. The last time, we slept in the same bed was when I overheard his confession.
Even after everything I did to him...Honestly, I'm grateful that he still accepted me.I walk over to him and place my chin over his shoulder. "Kongpob, you better make sure I wake up on time... got it." The dish he was holding fell back into the water and with sopping wet hands, he quickly turns around and hugs me tightly. I hear him speaking softly in my ear, "P'Arthit, you are honestly making me the happiest man in the world." I hugged him back. "Bleh... stop being so cheesy." However, this falls flat because I can't help myself hugging him ever tighter.

I was early to class today, and Knott had to pointed it out, "Hey, Ai'Arthit, since when do you arrive ten minutes before class? Plus, You seem very awake!" He raises an eyebrow at me. "Oh, I heard someone's smoke alarm go off and couldn't fall back to sleep." I smile sheepishly.
I hated lying to him. I'm just not ready to tell them about my relationship. I don't think it has anything to do with me being with a man... I feel I'm pretty confident that my friends will accept me. Just like how we accept Toota. I guess, there is always this feeling of caution for how people will perceive me. "Ai'Arthit, did you change your shampoo? It smells like that brand I spoke to you about before? Did you end up buying it!"
Toota sure is a keener. I used Kongpob's shampoo this morning and it's definitely has a wonderful fragrance that reminds me of him. I unknowingly began blushing which was gracefully pointed out once again by Toota. "Woah! Was not expecting that reaction. Did your faen buy it for you? Or maybe you slept over?" See what I mean... can't they give me a break. This is my first relationship and I don't want to be open about it.
"Hell No! I got some samples and since I had extra time this morning. I used it." Knott is shaking his head while Toota is nodding in a very sarcastic way. "Ai'Knott, he's getting really good at dodging questions don't you think? I guess, we need to just catch him instead" Knott is once again shaking his head, "I want no part of that. We have exams next month." Bright rushes into the classroom with Prem following behind. "Don't forget we have a thank-you party next week! I'm really looking forward to it!" Idiot... before we could shame Bright into modesty the professor walks into the class and it's time to focus.
