At our hazer team meetings we were all in agreement to lay off the hazing for the freshman as it was officially freshman week and there would be a lot of activities that they must prepare and volunteer for.

When Ai'Arthit told the freshman about relaxed hazing activities all of them let out a sigh of relief, but that was short lived as they are required to sign up before 1 pm for the freshman games. I could hear murmuring from nongs.

Our group of friends head over to the canteen to enjoy some lunch prior to checking up on the volunteer sign-up sheet. I could see Ai'Arthit was thinking about something, but it was a fleeting moment in time. Ai'Bright being himself decided he would bring up a touché topic.

"Ai'Arthit, what do you think will happen at the Freshie games? Do you think your favourite junior will win the title of university moon?"

"Oh why did you ask him that Ai'Bright! Now he is going to be moody the rest of the day!"

"I was asking a honesty question. It's not like we all don't notice they are always at each other's throats"

All I saw is a shoe being flung straight at Ai'Bright's
head.

"Ouch, come on Ai'Arthit! Just answer the question! Don't be so violent!"

"Maybe you should keep your mouth closed and I wouldn't have to be"

Ai'Arthit looked away from our table and quickly I glanced where he was looking. I watched as Kongpob and his group of friends walking together. I turned back to look at Ai'Arthit's face, but there was nothing there for me judge of what he was thinking about. I was about to look away when we locked eyes. He looked at me like telling me "what chu lookin at". I just shook my head.

Ai'Arthit looked over at the group and told us we should go check out the sign up sheet as we had given them enough time.

As we walked into the gymnasium I could feel all the other students looking at us. All chatter stopped as Ai'Arthit began flipping through the sign up sheets. I glanced over his shoulder there were a number of people signed up, but we had more students in our hazing sessions.  Ai'Arthit looks at me and I nod. I'm in agreement. I direct my eyes towards the freshman group standing near by. I knew what I was doing. Kongpob was standing in the group, so Ai'Arthit will want to make this as dramatic as possible.

Ai'Arthit  asked Ai'Toota to call the freshman near. We all face the freshman straight on while Ai'Arthit sat on the signup table. The freshman made there way towards us and Wai 🙏🏼 each of the hazers.

"The reason we called all of you today. Is not to help you practice or give you useful advise. But we wanted To tell you that the faculty of engineering has never lost to anyone since the first freshman games. We've always been champions. Don't let this winning streak end in your year."

What I was not expecting was another freshman that I did not recognize speak up.

"Isn't the freshman games supposed to be about team building more than anything, p?

I watched as Ai'Prem snarling at the question like it was preposterous to even think that way. Then he spoke

"is that all you could fathom, you're a real dummy"

"Hey, why are being mean? I asked nicely." Which I agreed. Why was Ai'Prem being like this. However once Ai'Prem gets in one of these moods he doesn't stop. I could see Ai'Arthit closing his eye in frustration.

When the shouting got more and Ai'Prem decided to lunge at the freshman. It took all my strength to hold him back meanwhile I could see the freshman was being held back by Kongpob and his friend.

Ai'Arthit got up from the desk and yelled "what's with this none sense? Calm the fuck down!" As he stared at both Ai'Prem and the freshman.

"You're curious! Fine! I'll tell you. For those of you who are new to this place, you might view freshman games as any other regular competition. But for me, it's a way to prove that you're capable and fit to be in the faculty of engineering. The more seriously you take it, the more I can read into how much importance your giving it. If you slack off and lose from the beginning, then you're not fit to be student here."

As Ai'Arthit was speaking I was closely watching the faces of the freshman, but once I stumbled upon Kongpob I knew he was patiently waiting to speak up. Here we go once again I thought.

"We are going to win."

The look on Ai'Arthits face was not anger, but expected. He wanted Kongpob to challenge us. Hmm.

"Actions speak louder than words. Don't forget that you're representing your year. You're carrying the weight of their expectations"

"I know that khrap. That's why I said we're going to win. We're going to prove it to you that is, freshman are no lesser engineers."

"Great. We'll be keeping an eye out"

With that said I watch Ai'Arthit walk towards the exit. I looked over at Kongpob. Then followed behind the head hazer. Once we are out of the gym Ai'Bright taps Ai'Arthit on the shoulder "you shouldn't have stopped him. I was hoping to see Prem's hook."
He just ignores Ai'Bright and looks at the Ai'Prem

"Use your head. Control your emotions. The teachers are checking on us. If you do that, we might have lost the freshman's respect."

Ai'Bright chimes in again
"Right, that 0062 guy, he pokes his nose everywhere."

Ai'Arthit responds like he just lost the war

"It's his nature. I've punished him countless times."

I couldn't stand the look Ai'Arthit was showing, so I had to speak up "they're all big heads. Are they really going to make it?"

"Don't underestimate them."

I couldn't believe it. Ai'Arthit, you of all people said that. I had to ask again, but he dodges the question. I just look at our friend group in awe as Ai'Arthit leaves us behind.
