I woke up with a start, confusion immediately setting in. It took me a second to remember I hadn't fallen asleep in my bed, and by the darkness of the room, I could tell all my roommates had already been asleep for a while. I quietly stood up, feeling incredibly sore at the position I had been sleeping it. Though I still felt tired, I knew there was no way I was going to be able to fall asleep, so I went downstairs to the common room to get a drink.
To my surprise, I quickly realized I wasn't the one only down there. The undertones of the green light were seeping into the stairwell, and a part of me wanted to go back to my room. However, something continued to pull me forward, and it became evident why.
"Embry.." The familiar voice of my brother said.
I collected my breath as I went to sit down next to him on the couch, not quite ready to forgive him for what he said.
"Em, you know I didn't mean that. I was just so mad, and it came out. I am glad you're in Slytherin with me. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"Do you wanna know why I told Snape?" I asked, sidestepping his apology.
"Yes, actually I do."
"If you would've gotten caught, you could've been expelled. Yeah, I know dad would probably throw a fit, but it could've been possible. I.. I don't know how to be apart from you. It's pathetic, I know, but I couldn't stand the thought of not having my twin around. So, I got mad when you flew the broom and then I got mad again when you were gonna sneak out. It's like you're determined to be expelled or something." I said, feeling good to finally get how I was feeling off of my chest.
"I'm sorry. I didn't think about it that way. But it still wasn't cool for you tattle to a teacher. I thought we left that stage years ago." He said, though it was somewhat lined with a joke.
"I won't tell on you if you don't break the rules every 5 seconds."
"Deal. You will have to let me break the rules sometimes, though. Especially when it comes to Potter."
"Oh please, if he got caught tonight than we'll hopefully never have to see him again."
The two of us laughed and talked for a little while longer, before we decided it was best to get some rest. We said Supernova to each other, and then I finally got to sleep.
When Draco and I walked into the dining hall the next morning, both of our mouths dropped to see Potter and Weasley still in their seats. Draco huffed about it all the way to his seat, and I had to admit I was feeling rather salty about it as well. Of course the perfect Gryffindor could get away with it, and just when I thought I couldn't get any angrier, I was quickly corrected. As the post came in, Harry got a particularly long one, which I quickly realized was a broomstick.
"Look!" I said, elbowing Draco in the side.
He quickly looked over with me, and the realization fell on his face. Harry and his red headed side kick quickly jumped up, and Draco pulled me out to follow them, Crabbe and Goyle following quickly behind. Faster than I would've thought possible, Draco ripped the package out of Potter's hand and started to examine it.
"That's a broomstick! You'll be in for it this time, Potter. First years aren't allowed to have broomsticks." Draco chided.
