"Daphne!" I nearly yelled as I entered my room that night.
She hadn't sat next to us on the train, and even though it had only been a few weeks, it felt like a lifetime since I had seen her. We ran over to each other, nearly tackling one another in our arms.
"I had hoped you had gotten less annoying over the break, but obviously I was proven wrong." Pansy sneered as she entered the room.
"Well I hoped you had gotten a bit better looking over the holidays, so I guess we'll both just have to suffer." I replied.
"You're lucky Draco is your brother or I would.." She said as she strutted closer to me.
"Do what? Curse me? Go ahead and it'll be the last thing you ever do. Even if Draco wasn't my twin, I doubt you would have the ability to do it." I spat back.
"Keep that up and you'll get what's coming to you." Pansy ended as she stormed out the doorway.
I began to laugh at her ridiculous behavior as I set up Ophelia's Corner. Daphne told me all about her Christmas, and how exited Astoria had been to see her. She showed off her brand new set of robes and expensive necklace she had been gifted, before we both finally realized it was time to head down to dinner.
As we entered the common room, I had to restrain the eye roll that wanted to escape. Pansy was nearly drooling over Draco, and just as usual he couldn't have cared less. He was happily talking to Crabbe and Goyle about who knows what, before I called him over to walk with me.
"So what did you do to get Pansy so mad?"
"I could've been breathing and it would've made her mad. She's just annoyed I'm the number one girl in your life." I joked back.
"I wouldn't go that far. Maybe 11th or 12th." He joked back.
I playfully hit him on his shoulder as we sat down at our usual spots. A familiar happiness set over me as the sound of laugher and taking filled the area. For the past two weeks, it had been awkwardness and forced conversation, but now I was finally surrounded by my friends again.
"Welcome back students!" Dumbledores voice roared throughout the hall. "It is with great pleasure that I'm proud to see you all back again for another term. I hope you all remember the rules and plan to follow them for the rest of the year. As for Quidditch, don't forget to tune in to Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor next week. Now, I'm sure you're all tired of hearing me talk, so bring on the desserts!"
As he said this, all 4 tables were covered in all types of sweets and chocolates, and we all couldn't help but begin to dive in.
"Are we going to the match?" I asked Draco as I finished the last of my cake.
"Why not? Might be a good time to watch Gryffindor lose." He laughed.
As the day of the match arrived, I dragged my twin to the library with me to do some last minute studying. Even though the term had only just begun, I couldn't stand the thought of falling behind on my schoolwork, and even though he didn't show it, Draco couldn't either."What'd you get for the last one on defense against the dark arts?" I asked.
"The leg locker curse. Can't wait to try that one out." He answered.
I quickly scribbled the answer down before I slid all the work back into my book. I had finished all my homework before the weekend had even truly begun, and now I could fully enjoy the quidditch match today. As we walked out of the library, I knew trouble was coming as soon as I saw Longbottom standing alone and a devious smile appearing on Draco's face.
