"Wake up!" A voice said next to me.

I sat up in a panic, looking around the room that was now empty.

      "Wait, why didn't.." I started.

"Pansy and Millicent made us miss the wake up call. We've already missed breakfast, we can't be late to Snape's class!" Daphne said.

We had already been there almost a week, and we thought that our quarrel with our roommates had ended. Apparently they were just waiting for the worst possible day to have us oversleep, because today we had class with our own head of house. I threw on my robes as quickly as I could and threw my hair up into as neat as a pony tail as I could manage. Lastly, we tied up our shoes and ran as quickly as we could down the hall to where our next class was. Luckily we lived close enough that we didn't have to run across the castle, but we weren't quick enough to beat the stares of our peers. The minute we burst through the door, Draco looked at me with disappointment as I saw Millicent and Pansy trying to cover their laughs.

"What was that?" Draco whispered into my ear.

"Move." I said to Goyle, who had been sitting next to Draco.

He quickly picked up his things and walked towards the back of class to sit next to Crabbe.

"Ask your little friend." I said to Draco after I sat down.

I jerked my head over to Pansy, who was now actually laughing. Draco just rolled his eyes and started to set up his cauldron, and I followed his motions. Only minutes later did the door burst open once again to reveal our Potions teacher: Severus Snape.

"Welcome first years. This class will not be like your others and I don't allow any slacking off. I will start with roll call. Don't miss your name." The professor started.

I already started to fear this man, but Draco just elbowed me in the side.

"He loves Slytherin, and I think he used to be friends with our parents and Aunt Bellatrix. Don't stress."

I don't know how he knew, but the minute class officially started I knew it was true. He immediately turned all his malice towards the Griffyndors and praised the Slytherins any chance he got. I had to admit, it was nice having a teacher actually like us instead having a prejudice towards us. Though all the professors tried to hide it, it wasn't hard to see that they disliked us more than the rest. Even McGonagall, who I had actually grown to like, didn't seem to trust us as much.

"Everyone begin to make your potions. I'll be around to check your cauldrons soon." He stated.

     "Let's start!" Draco said happily.

We both began to make our potions with extreme care. I had never seen Draco so concentrated on anything in his life, but he truly seemed to like potions. He even helped me out when I got lost, and he didn't even complain about it.

"Well, it seems the Malfoy pair is taking the lead in the class. Potter, maybe if you took the time to actually read the instructions yours wouldn't look so dreadful."

Draco and I high-fived under the table, trying to stifle our laughter. Something about Harry Potter didn't sit right with me, but I wasn't sure what it was. I didn't feel quite the loathing Draco did towards him, but I definitely didn't get the hype about him.

"That'll be all for today." Snape said as he went on to help a Gryffindor boy who had exploded his potion.

"Did you see how pathetic the Gryffindors were?" Draco laughed as we left.
