"Hello children." My father said as we approached him.

All around the platform people were running into their parents arms and yelling out their excitement, but that's not how the Malfoy's did it. We were calm and composed, and it almost hurt my heart.

"Hi father, mother." Draco said.

"Hello." I finished.

With almost no more words, we were scurried off to the wizard car my father was given by the ministry for our homecoming. Though it looked small on the outside, the inside was spacious, and gave me plenty of room to sit far away from my father. With Ophelia in my arms, I stared out the window.

"How was your first term?" My mother asked us.

"It was great! Well, except for Potter and his two minions. They're awful! Father, can you see if I can bring a broom after Christmas?" Draco asked.

"I've already tried Draco, you know that."

"You should try harder." He scoffed.

Here we go. Whenever Draco was around my dad, he turned into a different person. He was rude and snobby, and the more I payed attention to it, he was becoming like that all the time. The only time I felt like I could deal with him was when we were alone. He didn't have to put up a front when it was just us two, but when we were around other people, it was becoming too much to bear.

"And what about you, darling?" My mother asked me.

"Oh, it was fine. Daphne is cool. Some of my classes are hard but.."

     "Daphne Greengrass?" My father interrupted.

     "Yep."

"Oh good! I was worried you would become friends with some mudblood. Draco, how are Crabbe and Goyle?"

I rolled my eyes as I turned my attention back to the window. I should've known I wouldn't have been given a chance to talk. All my father cared about was status and Draco, and I didn't help with either of those things. The minute we pulled up to the manor, I jumped out and headed straight for my room, leaving someone else to deal with my belongings.

I placed Ophelia on my bed as launched myself onto my nearby chair. After only spending an hour with my father, everything I had been excited for left me. I didn't care about the presents or hot chocolate anymore, I just wanted to be back in my bed at Hogwarts.

As I looked at my mirror, my eyes quickly focused on the pictures lining it. I landed on a certain one in particular, and I took it down to get a better look at it. Staring back at me was the younger version of Draco and myself trapped in our parents arms, all laughing hysterically at who knows what. I sighed as a placed it gently back, careful not to rip it. It was one of the memories I loved to see, and I couldn't risk losing it.

"Ms. Embry." A voice rang from my door.

"Dobby!" I said happily as I jumped up from my chair.

I ran over to the house elf as I wrapped him in a hug. It wasn't exactly normal for someone in your family to treat a house elf with respect, but Dobby was different. He had always been kind to me, and growing up he was always right by my side. When my parents were more concerned with Draco's life then mine, Dobby never made me feel alone.

"Dobby missed you!"

"Oh, I missed you too! Do you think you could bring us some hot chocolate?" I asked.
