Jewel's POV:

"Hey!"

The two men appeared to be startled. They began looking all around them.

I panicked again and dove back under the water.

I sighed. I'd missed my chance.

If only I was a human. I could have legs. I could be with him. I could be a part of his world.

My great grandmother fell in love with a human once. The human even loved her back, but they could never be together. She was grounded under the sea by Triton's rule. She never forgot his name until the day she died.

Darryl.

Sadly, I was stuck under the sea as well. No one could change that terrible fact.

Except one person.

I dove deeper, making my way to the deepest part of the ocean.

This was the craziest and most dangerous thing I'd ever done. I was willing to do anything to get out of the ocean. I was risking it all for that beautiful man I'd seen.

Michael's POV:

Eric turned back to me. "You heard that too, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I did."

"Weird." Eric said, shaking his head. "Anyways, you were saying?"

My countenance fell once again. "Right. Jessie." I said. "This break up is kicking my ass. We were together for four years. I'm really going to miss her."

"Well, why did she leave you?"

I sighed. "The note she left me said that she needed time away to focus on herself. I have to respect her decision, even though it hurts like hell."

"It'll be easy to get her off your mind. We've got whole bunch of plans this summer before we go back overseas."

"But everything reminds me of her."

Eric gave me a sympathetic smile. "I know it hurts, Mike. You can always look on the bright side. There's plenty of fish in the sea, you know."

I pulled the net out of the water. "And we haven't caught a single one." I said.

Eric laughed. "The motor must've scared them away."

I shrugged. "Most likely." I agreed. I checked my watch. "It's eight o'clock now. We should probably head back to shore. We're a couple miles out, and it'll be dark when we get back."

"Yeah, you're right. Start the motor." Eric said.

I flipped a switched on the boat and began heading back toward shore.

Jewel's POV:

I squinted my eyes to try and see through the dark waters.

The fish in this part of the ocean always freaked me out. They had large fins, sharp teeth, and eyes that bugged out of their heads.

I ignored them the best I could. I had my mind set on one thing.

I finally reached a dark cave. Uneasiness came over me. I was always told not to come to this part of the ocean.

It's not like I ever listened anyway.

"Hello, beautiful!" A sinister voice echoed around the cave.

"I've been expecting you." Ursa said as she swam over to me with her large tentacles sprawling in every direction. "Shouldn't you be at your wedding?"
