Day Thirty One~

Assan's POV:

"It's past midnight!" Aaron said. "Is it too late to keep looking?"

Triton sighed. "Son, we've been searching the surface for days now. Any boat that floated by wouldn't have her.. Jewel made a foolish decision that she, and many others will have to suffer the consequences from."

I looked down at the bottle of elixir. One of my tears fell on it.

"Oh Jewel, why would you do this to your poor father?" I mumbled. "I'll never see your face again."

"Jewel? Jewel!" A voice in the distance yelled.

The three of us stopped. "Did-did you guys hear that?" I asked.

Triton nodded. "Indeed, I did."

Aaron led the way toward the sound of the voice. The closer we swam, the louder the crying seemed to get.

"Please wake up. I love you."

We started to see a dark outline of a boat. Two humans sat in the boat. One female, one male.

The man tried to console the woman who was crying hysterically as she called out my daughter's name. Her despair was nothing compared to the man in the water.

"Jewel, please. I'm sorry, please don't go." He sobbed. He shook the lifeless body of a mermaid in his arms.

Curls swayed as he shook this body. Even in the dark, I knew who it was.

That's was my precious Jewel. Dead.

"Oh Neptune..." Aaron said.

Triton only sadly shook his head.

I swam closer. I unscrewed the cap of the bottle  of the elixir. I couldn't lose her.

"Not my daughter!" I screamed as tears fell from my face.

I flung the potion through the air. It landed in her forehead. Something inside of me knew that nothing would happen. She had to drink it.

It was only on the surface of her skin. The elixir trickled down forehead and onto her lips. A few drops even got into her mouth.

I was far away, and I wasn't sure if I saw it right, but at that moment, I swore that I saw her chest rise.

Michael's POV:

Some form of liquid flew onto Jewel's face. I didn't even care to wipe it away, or figure out what it was. I couldn't. I was too busy wrapping myself in my own grief.

I started at her beautiful face as the liquid trickled down. A few droplets ran over her lips and fell into her mouth.

"Wait... look at her chest." Eric said.

I heard her draw in a breath. My tears of sorrow quickly turned to tears of joy.

Her eyes slowly fluttered open. "M-Michael?" She croaked.

My happy tears fell onto her cheeks. "Jewel!"

Jewel's POV:

The burning in my chest ceased. I could breath again.

My hearing slowly started to come back. I heard the sobs of someone, but I wasn't sure who it was.

I felt a person against me.  I knew who's arms I was in.

"Jewel!" Michael said.

I opened my eyes slowly to see him smiling down at me, all while his tears fell onto me. "Michael?"
