As the World Caves In

all too well

     It's the end of another school year which makes me anxious because with my brother gone I'll have to live with my father, at least for a while. I pack my clothes when I notice something going up my hand, I look down and see my tiny snake, Asmo. Could it be that he feels how I am and he's trying to help? What am I thinking he's not a dog, snap out of it Skye. I give him a little kiss then finish packing. I lay my eyes on my birthday gifts that I got from George. I decide that for now I'll put the jewellry away but I open the book and go through it. It's really pretty, where did he get this I wonder. I gather all my courage and go down to the common room. "Mornin' love" Draco says to me and moves over so I could sit down on the couch. As I approach him I can hear Pansy scoff "Good morning to you too Pansy" I say sarcastically while fake smiling. I sit down next to Draco, he grabs my face strongly and kisses me. When he breaks the kiss he looks at me longingly but then looks away because as I can, he must feel Blaise gazing at us too. "Amused Blaise?" Dray asks him annoyed. "You two can really put on a show what can I say?" he smirks at me which makes me go closer to my boyfriend as he puts his arm around me. "More like pathetic" Pansy chimes in as she looks at us while rolling her eyes. "Watch it Parkinson" Draco says threateningly with an intimidating look on his face. When he feels like he made sure that Pansy looks away and won't bother us anymore he turns to me "Are you feeling better?" he caresses my face. "I don't feel ready to go back to him" honesty bursts out of me. "You only have to be with him for a couple of days, maybe a week then you can come to ours" he says encouragingly. "I hope so" I look down sadly. He grabs my chin making me look at him "Hey, it's gonna be okay" he says softly. I lay my head on his shoulder to rest for a bit. "Does anyone know what happened to Umbridge though?" Blaise asks and everyone shakes their head. "Our headmaster is worthless Dumbledore again" Draco says filled with loathing. "Better than Umbridge" I whisper with my eyes closed. "Maybe we can have quidditch again next year" I say excitedly as I open my eyes and sit up straight. I can feel Draco gazing at me as he smiles "What?" I ask him. "You're so cute when you're excited" he laughs softly but then remembers we're in front of other people plus they're really judgy. He leans in closer to me "Did I just say that out loud?" he whispers as the others are trying not to burst out laughing. I cover my mouth as I nod. He blushes out of embarassment so to get him out of here I ask "Hey I should umm check on Ginny! Do you wanna come with?" He looks at me "Sure" he says in relief and grabs my hand to get up. "Thanks" he says when we get out of the dungeons. "It was nothing" I respond in a gentle tone, he comes closer to me and whispers seductively "I can't wait for you to spend summer at the manor" I blush when I hear his deep voice so close to me it even sends shivers down my spine. He then grabs my neck and kisses me deeply. "That's just a foretaste" he say softly as I'm trying to catch my breath. The moment is gone when Harry walks down the stairs "Potter.." Draco notes. "Hey Harry!" I shout out to him. "What are you doing?" my boyfriend hisses. "Just wanna talk to him, you don't have to" I inform him of my plans. "Hey Skye what's up?" he asks cheerfully then adds "Malfoy.." and looks at him with anger. "Can we talk?" I ask him to ease the tension. He nods so we go a little further away to talk, just the two of us. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry... about Sirius" I say sympathetically. "Thanks and I'm sorry about your brother.." he returns the condolences, although my brother isn't dead like his godfather is, he must be more hurt than I am. "Did you check on Ginny?" I ask him to change the subject. "Yeah I was just in the infirmary" he blushes a bit "She's fine" he continues. "She always says that, great at pretending" I laugh softly. "Yeah she really is great" he adds which makes me look at him like 'did he just say that'. "Anyway see you on the train!" he quickly says then leaves. I have to tell Ginny about this.

     Draco helps me carry my luggages out to the train. "Thanks babe" I kiss him when we get to the train station. "No problem love" he says as he puts my luggages on the train, on a shelf over our heads. I see Ginny coming towards the station so I turn to Draco "You can go ahead, I'll talk to her real quick" I say to him. "Don't make me wait for long" he looks into my eyes seductively then gets on the train. I run up to Ginny who's accompanied by Luna. "Wow not even a scratch huh? So you can play quidditch" I say to her excitedly as I look at her ankle. "Yeah I can't wait for you to come over so I can beat you at it" she responds playfully. She's not even limping, Madam Pomfrey did a great job. "Oh I might not be allowed to go over to the Burrow.." I realize dismally. "You know you could just sneak out" she whispers to me. "Or just tell your dad that you're at Malfoy's but come to ours" she gives me another idea. "I'll see what I can do" I respond with hope in my voice. We get on the train and I say my goodbyes because we go in different directions. "At least write to me!" Ginny begs as we hug. "I will if you do too!" I offer a deal. "Bye Luna, have a great summer" I hug her too. "You too Skye!" she smiles at me. I get to our usual compartment where Draco, Blaise and Adrian are already sitting. I haven't talked to Pucey since I kicked him off the team so there's an akward tension between us but it's more akward for him than it is for me. Dray sits closer to the window so I can sit down next to him. "How's the Weasley?" he asks trying to show interest in my friends life. "She's better than ever" I answer kindly as he takes my hand to hold it under the table.

     When we get to London the nervousness is overflowing in me. "Hey, I'm here, it's okay" Draco turns to me and squeezes my hand as the train stops. I nod anxiously then stand up ready to get off the train. "You'll be fine" he says to me looking directly in my eyes. We step off the train and I notice my father standing on the platform with an evil smile. I realize I'm still holding Dray's hand so I squeeze it as my heart beats faster. He turns me around so I can't see my father then places his hands on my face and smiles softly "Listen, everything is gonna be alright, we'll see each other in a couple of days." he says. "Right" I say dissociated but he brings me back to reality with a kiss. When he ends the kiss and tries to leave I pull him in closer and hug him tightly "Thank you" I whisper.
