Chapter 17:

I thanked Cedric for the food and his time and headed back to the Slytherin common room. I walked in and immediately got dragged to a couch by Draco.

"Ow Draco chill! What do you want?"

"Where were you?" Draco's grip was still tight around my arm.

"What?"

"Where were you?!" Draco was yelling now.

"With Diggory, why?" I snatch my arm from him and rub it. Despite me being a year older, Draco always tried to be protective of me. Normally people think that's cute but I wasn't too fond of it. Mainly because I always felt like I needed to protect him. Draco lets out a sigh of relief.

"Oh okay good, at least you weren't sneaking off with Potter at night. Anyways how was the date?" My brother leans in.

"D- Date?! It wasn't a date. How did you know we were doing something?"

"Who do you think helped him plan the whole thing?" Draco replies with a duh tone.

"You helped him? Why?"

"Well dear sister, I think it was about time you got a boyfriend," Draco says with a smirk, nudging me with his elbow.

"Boyfriend?! Draco it wasn't a date he called it a 'hang out'. And I don't like him like that, he's just a friend. And even if I did, he probably doesn't like me like that."

"Blimey you know nothing about love don't you? He clearly fancies you Tessa. Merlin this boy bought you a firebolt and set up an entire picnic for you. The fact he asked me about things you like to make sure he was going to make you happy proves my point even more."

"I still can't believe you actually helped him. I mean I thought you didn't like anyone outside your little slytherin group. Especially him, he's a hufflepuff."

"Well you are right about that, but Diggory's pureblood so he gets an exception. If you were to date anyone in Hogwarts, I'd approve of him." I'm telling you I have never heard Draco be excited to talk about something as big as love. Draco never liked talking about feelings, let alone love. It was strange for him to be so open to talk about it.

"I hate to break it to you Draco but I doubt I'll be dating anyone anytime soon. I don't fancy anyone right now and I don't think anyone fancies me. But good try. Thank you for trying to make me happy though."

"Are you kidding? I haven't been able to see my sister for two years, the least I could do was try and make you happy. Considering everything that will go on when we have to go back home." Yes, Draco could be cold hearted at times. Yes, he was a pain in the butt and annoyed the hell out of me. But nonetheless he was my brother, we had nothing but each other growing up the way we did. If Draco had a soft side, it was for family

"Love you, Draco."

"Love you too, Tessa" he replies and engulfs me in a tight hug.

*the next day, hogwarts hallway*

I had just gotten out of Herbology and was leaning against the walls of the castle reading a book, as per usual.

"So did you enjoy last night?" I turn around and look at Cedric.

"Mm, I guess it was alright," I reply. That was a flat out lie. It was more than alright, I actually wanted to do it again.

"Well that's good to know. You know maybe one day we could-"

"Diggory what's up man?!" A Hufflepuff says smacking Cedric behind the head. It looked like one of his friends he told me about last night. Cedric rolled his eyes in response. "Still talking to your little criminal friend over here?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Stop," Cedric says simply.

"Be careful man, she might hex you if you turn your back."

"Ben, shut up." Cedric snaps.

"What's wrong Malfoy? Cat got your tongue?" Ben mocks. I push myself off the wall I was leaning on and stand straight. Ben holds his arms up in a joking manner. "Ooh what's Malfoy gonna do huh? It's not like you can hurt me, you'll go right back where you came from!"

"Seriously Ben stop this isn't funny!" Cedric says sharply, but Ben ignores him. I pocket my book in my robes.

"Watch yourself," I say calmly. Cedric seemed angry, I wasn't.

"Scare me Malfoy, I dare you." Ben says, taking a step closer to me. I pull out my wand slowly out of my pocket and hand it to Cedric. He takes it with a confused look. "What, you're not going spell me huh? How's that going to work, thought you had brains Malfoy."

"I don't need magic to scare you Ben," Draco and his two goons Crabbe and Goyle come and stand behind me.

"You good?" Draco whispers in my ear, I give him a small nod.

"Goyle, could you come here for a sec?" I say, he looks at my brother and Draco nods in approval. He comes over and stands next to me.

"What, are you going to use one of your brother's body guards to defend you?" Ben scoffs. I ignore his remark and continue to talk to Goyle.

"Can I see your arm, please?" He holds out his arm to me and I grab onto it. "I am so sorry for what I'm about to do."

"Wha-" he starts. I dig my fingers into a pressure point right in his shoulder and in his wrist and he passes out in an instant on the floor. I look back at Ben to see and expression of fear on his face, his mouth hanging from what I just did. I take a step forward closer to him and go on my toes so I could whisper in his ear.

"You're next," I say calmly. I step back and grab my wand from Cedric as Ben scurries away, dragging him along with him. I turn to face a fainted Goyle and point my wand at him, "Rennervate." He snaps awake, Draco and Crabbe help him up. "Sorry about that Goyle."

"It's all good," he says dusting off his sweater. I nod at the boys and walk away quickly. If I'm being honest, I wasn't phased at all by what Ben had said. I expected this to happen once I returned back. I was more shocked at what Cedric did. Sure he told him to stop, but when Ben got in my face, he did nothing. I turn the corner and accidentally bump into a ravenclaw girl, who seems to be in my year.

"Oh I'm so sorry!" She says backing up sheepishly.

"No it was my fault, sorry." I bend down to pick up the books I had knocked out of her hands.

"Are you okay?" She asks, I look up at her flustered. I hadn't noticed the expression my face wore when I walked away from Ben

"Um, yea sorta. Just people being rude and such."

"You're Tessa Malfoy, correct?" I nod. "I'm Cho Chang, pleasure to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. You're in fourth year too, right?" She nods.

"You know all my friends are busy tonight, would you like to do homework in the library together?" I smile.

"Yea, that'd be great." Cho gives me a warm smile and we walk to the library. I was shocked by her response, someone my year who was willing to talk to me, and she wasn't terrified!

a/n: Ik what y'all are thinking abt cho, but I wanted to give Tessa a person to talk to in her year. Plus I've seen sm harry and cedric stories where they make cho so mean, she's a rly sweet person and I felt like she needed justice.
