Chapter 22:

"You did what?!" Draco exclaims when I get back to the common room.

"I dumped the pumpkin juice on his head. I mean compared to what he did to me, that was nothing," I shrug my shoulders sitting down next to Pansy.

"I'm proud of you. Don't take shit from anybody,"

"You know me," I wink at my brother. He begins to engage in his own conversation with Blaise. I turn to face Pansy and lower  my voice down to a whisper so they can't hear me. "So, how long have you liked my brother?" Pansy's eyes widen and she blushes a deep red.

"How did you know?" she whispers back.

"I see the way you look at him, it's adorable!" I reply.

"It's not, I don't think he likes me back," Pansy says glumly.

"He's never really open with his feelings, he's probably trying to figure it all out. But don't worry, I'll help you. I'll make sure to put in a good word for you."

"You'd do that?" She asks with hopeful eyes.

"It's the least I can do when you and Blaise keep him somewhat sane. Because let's be honest, Crabbe and Goyle are more of his mindless bodyguards rather than his friends." Pansy giggle and we all head back to our respected dorms.

To say monday hit me like a bus is in understatement. I rolled out of bed and immediately headed to the bathroom to do my hair and brush my teeth. After pulling my hair into a messy ponytail, I throw on my uniform. Snatching my Slytherin robe from a hanger, I drape it over my arm and head down to the Great Hall for breakfast.

I had my TA period with Snape today so I walked to the dungeons with Draco after we finished eating. Draco trudges in and drops his bag to the floor, sitting in an empty desk. Pansy walks in a few moments later, she looks between me and the empty seat next to Draco. I give her a look, motioning for her to go sit next to him. Draco turns to her and smiles slightly at the sight of her. I couldn't help but feel happy for him, he deserved this. I sit down at my TA desk, waiting for Snape's instructions. I began to worry about the day that was ahead of me. Being completely honest with myself, I had no idea what to feel about Cedric. We had hung out in the Slytherin common room on saturday night going into sunday morning when he was able to get away from his friends. I snuck him in after everyone had gone to bed. He had apologized for what Ben said, which I accepted. But he said nothing about what he would do to stop him. I understood he was his friend but did he really put up with him to the point where he lets him constantly torment someone?

"Tessa, you okay?" I look up and see Harry stop by my desk before heading to his seat. My  worried expression softens at the sight of him.

"Yea, I'm fine," I reply.

"You sure?" I am about to nod my head when he gives me a knowing look.

"I'll tell you later."

"There we go," Harry gives me a warm smile before taking his seat. Snape walks up to my desk and drops several crates unorganized with random vials of potions.

"Miss Malfoy, I need you to organize these. This is my most recent batch of potions and I need to know if I over stocked."

"Got it." I immediately dive into the crates and start organizing the vials as Snape begins his lesson.

By the time class is over, I have finished my task. "Professor you have left overs of the cough potion, veritaserum, and antidote to common poisons."

"How many of each?"

"2 cough potions, 3 veritaserums, and 1 antidote to common poisons."

"Very well, you may take this one," Snape says handing me the antidote to common poisons.

"I can have this?" I pick up the vile.

"Yes you may, besides you might need it one day. It's good to have it on you."

"Thank you so much, Professor."

"Anytime, Miss Malfoy." I walk to Charms with a smile on my face.

Charms had gone well, I had earned 10 points for Slytherin for executing the levitation charm perfectly. I couldn't help but smile to myself on the way to lunch. Maybe today won't be so bad after all.

"No Goyle, we can't stay here for Christmas holiday," Draco says.

"But why mate?" Goyle whined. "You can't convince your parents to let you stay?"

"Tessa and I have to go home, we don't have a choice." I had forgotten that Christmas was coming up. I was definitely excited to see my mom again.

"I need to see mom again, we didn't get to spend any time together before I had to come here" I say settling next to Draco.

"I need to talk to father too, it's not an option to stay here." Draco picks up my goblet.

"Ugh Draco get your own!" Draco simply ignores me and takes a sip of my juice anyway. Immediately after, Draco chokes and coughs from the sweet liquid. I scoff, "Karma." I look back to my plate and about to start eating until Draco begins to cough rapidly, leaning over to his left struggling to breathe. "Draco," I put my hand on his shoulder as he continues to cough. I tug on his shoulder trying to get him to face me. As soon as I do, my eyes meet a paled Draco struggling to breath as he continues to rapidly cough. "Draco!" I immediately jump to my feet and glance over to the goblet he had taken a sip out of. I pick up an apple and place it on my plate and pour the juice over the apple. Draco's friends watch as the apple dissolves in front of our eyes. "Goyle, tip his head back," He follows my instructions as I fish out the antidote to common poisons Snape had given me earlier out of my robes. I yank the cork off and dump the contents of the bottle into Draco's mouth. "Swallow," I back up and immediately Draco's coughing suppresses as he starts to catch his breath.

"You okay mate?" Goyle says patting Draco's back. He nods in response.

"Who the hell would try to poison you?!" I exclaim.

"Poison me? It was your goblet!" Draco replies. We all go silent, I peer into the goblet and look up and scan the Great Hall. Everyone had stopped what they were doing and watched the scene unfold in front of them. The only person not looking concerned was a certain hufflepuff. My blood boils with anger as I pick up the goblet and dump it onto the ground and with a quick wave of my wand, the liquid disappears. I turn to Draco.

"Let's go, we've got to get you to the hospital wing. We don't know what was in there, it could still be in your system." I pocket the empty vial of antidote to show to Madam Pomfrey just in case she asks. I tug on his robes getting him to stand up. "Pansy, do him a favor and get his homework for the rest of the day will you?" She nods as I pull Draco away from the table.

"We need to find out who tried to poison you Tessa!" Draco protests.

"I know who it is. Let's go."
