Chapter 21:
Turns out I didn't just pop out my shoulder, the bludger had actually broken it. Luckily Madam Pomfrey was able to heal my bones quickly and all was left were the purple bruises under my wrap. After a quick shower, which was quite hard to do with just one arm, I headed back to the Great Hall for some dinner.
"How's your shoulder?" Draco asks as I sit down.
"It's fine. It's not broken anymore," I replied, taking a bite of my food.
"I can't believe Harris did that to you. Foul git he is," Draco sneers.
"I won't disagree about the part where he's a git, but he's a beater and that's his job. He's supposed to try to get me off my broom," I say in a nonchalant tone.
"You didn't see Tessa," Draco turns to face me. "He was coming at you the whole game. He looked like he was trying to follow you." Draco looked worried, which is something he doesn't like to show. But I could just tell by the look in his eyes that he was genuinely concerned.
"It's fine, Draco honestly. I don't care what he does to me as long as he doesn't touch you."
"But-"
"No." I look over at Draco with a stern look.
"Fine. We're going back to the common room, you coming?""I'll be over in a sec. I'm gonna go talk to them," I point to the trio.
"Potter, Weaslebee, and the Mudblood."
"Draco, please. I get that you don't like them but they're the only people I can really trust."
"The Mudblood. Father would be furious," Draco points out.
"And that's exactly why you're not going to tell him." Draco raises his eyebrows. "Please, Draco. School isn't the most enjoyable thing for me right now; they're my only friends. Just let me have this one thing."
"Fine. But don't expect me to be nice to them."
"Wasn't going to." I push up from the table and head towards the Gryffindor table, passing a table of sad Hufflepuffs. I'm almost at the table when I hear a fit of laughter.
"Malfoy had her head in the clouds! Literally! They call that a tactic? That move was just cheap. Plus she probably messed up Cedric with her mind control shit."
Harris. Of course he was talking shit about me after they lost, he was bitter. I look over to his group with a glare. I put my good arm down on the table when I reach the Gryffindors.
"Tessa! That was amazing what you did out there!" Hermione exclaims.
"Thanks Hermione,"
"Is your shoulder okay?" Harry asks.
"It'll be fine. It's just bruised now."
"That was a nasty move, Harris really hit you hard," Ron points out.
"Yea it was but he was just doing his job," I replied. Another fit of laughter erupts from the table. We all look over and see Ben and his group laughing again. Cedric remained quiet as he tried to shoot me an apologetic look. My eyes wander to a goblet filled with pumpkin juice on the table. "Is this anyone's?" I ask, pointing to it. They all shake their heads in response. I raise my eyebrows and pick it up. "I'll see you guys tomorrow." I begin to walk out of the Great Hall, but before I leave I stop by the Hufflepuff table.
"Hey Tess," Cedric starts while Ben turns around to look at me, ready to make some sort of remark. "Good job today."
"Thanks, Diggory." Ben opens his mouth to say something, but before he even can get a word out I dump the pumpkin juice straight on his head and throw the Goblet on the table. With that I walk out of the Great Hall, content with myself.
