Chapter 6:

*Back to Tessa's POV*

I walk out of Charms to the Great Hall for lunch, with my head high and students flinching in my path. I roll my eyes, they'll get over it eventually. As soon as I get inside the Great Hall, I walk over to my brother and his friends.

"That's what I said! Filthy little mudblood that Granger. Such a know it all." Draco complains to his friends.

"Draco stop complaining because someone is smart, get over it." I say as I reach across him and grab half a sandwich.

"I'm not complaining because she's smart. I'm complaining because she's annoying."

"Whatever you say, Draco." I take a bite of my sandwich.

"How were your first couple classes?"

"Eh they were okay. They're super easy and I don't really talk to anyone." I look up from my conversation over to the Gryffindor table. I make eye contact with Harry and he waves me over to their table. "I'll be going to talk to Madam Hooch in a sec. See you later Draco." I give him a quick squeeze on his shoulder and walk over to the Gryffindor table, earning a couple stares.

"You were right! It is so much easier to memorize potions if I memorize the numbers first. And Snape gave me an Outstanding on my homework! That's the first time it's ever happened!" Harry beams as he shows me his paper. Aw, he's adorable.

"I told you! You could do amazing in Snape's class, you just have to figure him out a bit." I look up at his friends. "Hermione and Ron right?" Their eyes widen like they're surprised I know their name. The both give a small nod. "My brother told me about you. I don't know why he doesn't like you guys, you seem like fun people." They're eyes widened in surprise once again, probably shocked that I'm not as mean as my brother.

"Can you look over my homework again?" Harry asks as he pushes his paper forward. I giggle and sit down next to him.

"Sure," I say as I slide his paper in front of me and I read over it. "Super close with this procedure Harry. It's stir left not right for this one. And then for this one it's 27 minutes, not 37 minutes. Oh and you put the fairy wings in before the doxy eggs." Ron looks shocked after I correct Harry. Harry smiles and says thank you as I slide his paper back to him and he tries to fix his mistakes.

"Um, Tessa? Could you look over my p-procedure too please?" Hermione asks nervously.

"Of course!" Hermione slides her paper over to me. "Wow, Hermione this is almost perfect. The only thing wrong is it's stir left, not right for this one."

"Wow thank you!" She says as I slide her paper back over to her. Ron looks at me with a judgemental look and I stare him back straight in the eye, keeping a neutral face.

"Of course Hermione anytime." I reply after breaking eye contact with Ron.

"Uh, Malfoy. Your brother's staring at you," Ron points out. I turn around and see my brother giving me the dirtiest look. I roll my eyes.

"Whatever, he's just pissed because I'm talking to you guys. Just ignore him he's being stupid." I stand up and gather my books. "Well, I'll be on my way."

"Are you sure you don't wanna eat lunch here with us?" Harry asks and Ron quicks him a quick swat on the arm.

"I would but I need to talk to Madam Hooch about letting me back on the quidditch team. But I'll catch you guys later!" I get up and head out of the great hall.

*Harry's POV*

"Really Harry? I thought you didn't care much about potions because of Snape." Ron says as Tessa walks out of the great hall.

"Ron, stop being so bitter just because she's nice." Hermione says swatting his arm.

"I'm not being bitter! Since when am I the only one with a brain? I'm just being logical here. Don't you think she has some sort of plan to destroy us. What if she's being nice to us just to become friends with us and then sabotage our lives. Draco has been trying to do that this whole time and it never works. Maybe he's trying something different."

"Or..." I say rolling my eyes. "Maybe she's genuinely trying to make some friends Ron. I've never gotten an Outstanding in potions. She wouldn't be trying to sabotage us if I was getting good grades with her help."

"That's exactly the plan! Trick you guys once and then BOOM! Failure."

"Oh quit it Ron. I think Harry's right on this one. Sure she just got out of Azkaban, but you have to remember she's just a 14 year old girl. She's probably genuinely trying to change." Hermione says as she takes a bite of her sandwich.

"I'm not saying you have to like her Ron. Just don't be rude to her." I say when Ron rolls his eyes.

"Fine. Again if you get killed, I will not hesitate to say I told you so." I sigh and look down at my homework. She really isn't that bad. Plus, she's kinda... cute.
