"H-hey Dean." Jessica gave a weak smile. She began to cough as if she were hacking up a lung.

"My god Jess, what happened to you?"

"Well, Heaven. Wound up there. Got out, made it to earth. Then I get a warm welcome from some d-demons."

"Demons?" Sam said as he sat down next to Jessica. He began to clean her wound and stitch her up. "Why demons?"

"It's Melissa."

"What? How? I thought you two were connected." Dean said.

Jessica shook her head. "Not anymore. She tore the separation spell right out of the book of the damned. That's probably why I was feeling off those last few days. Next thing I know, I'm lying against the brick wall of the blackbird motel staring back at myself. She told me the only way it would work is if I died. And...well... guess I did."

"No wonder why I've been seeing a bunch of demonic cases lately. Guess that explains it." Sam tied off the string and placed a patch on Jessica's shoulder.

"There. That should do it."

"Thanks. But it's not going to work."

"What?" Both Sam and Dean looked at the girl.

"Jessica, what do you mean?" Dean asked.

"I don't have my grace. I'll just turn into a human again. And with this kind of injury, it'll just cause me pain and suffering. I've lost too much blood. It's only a matter of time before I go aga—"

"Wait!" Dean ran out of the room. A few minutes later he came back with a small vile.

"My grace! You still have it?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I?"

Dean walked over towards Jessica and helped her sit up. Then, he opened the small vile and held it to her lips.

The brothers watched as Jessica's grace slipped into her mouth. The woman's eyes glowed a bright blue. Then, her eyes closed and Jessica slumped against her pillow.

"What the hell happened? Jess?!"

"Dean, look." Sam pointed towards the woman's wound. It was slowly healing.

"The size of the wound might've made her pass out. I'm sure she'll wake up soon."

"Let's hope so." Dean said as he stared at the unconscious girl.

Hours passed by and Dean had never left Jessica's side.

"Dean?" Sam said as he walked into the infirmary. "What are you still doing in here?"

"I told you, Sammy. I'm not leaving her side until she wakes up."

Sam sighed.

"Here." He draped a blanket over Dean's shoulders. "At least have this just in case you fall asleep."

"Thanks, Sam."

"She'll be okay, Dean. Trust me."

Dean reached for Jessica's hand and gave it a squeeze.

"I thought I lost her, Sammy. I thought I would never see her again. And now, here she is. It's like I'm getting a second chance."

Sam nodded his head.

"Well, I'm glad that you're happy Dean."
