"So, he's really dead, isn't he?" Jessica asked as she played with her hands.
Sam nodded his head.
"He died saving your life."
Jessica shook her head. "I just don't believe it. There's no way."
"Jess," Dean started. "All we know is when you got back, you told us he gave you his grace to save your life. He sacrificed his for yours."
"I-I could've sworn he was alive."
Jessica groaned and held her head.
"God everything hurts."
"Do you remember anything before you woke up here in the hospital?" Sam asked.
Jessica grunted and she tried to focus.
"I'm not sure. All I remember is the smell of smoke. But it wasn't like a bar-B-Q smell. It smelled like burnt flesh."
The girl paused for a second. A worried look on her face.
"Was it....was it my flesh?"
"Jessica." Dean placed a hand on her shoulder.
She flinched. Dean removed his hand from her shoulder.
As he opened his mouth to speak, a nurse walked in and interrupted him.
"Ah agents, a word please?"
Dean looked over at Jessica and sighed. "We'll be back."
The woman nodded her head yet she still held confusion in her eyes.
The two Winchesters followed the nurse out into the hallway. She held a worried expression on her face.
"Is there a problem?" Sam asked.
"Well, a small one. There seems to be an issue with her brain scans. Every time we did one while she was in her coma, the scans came out blank."
"Blank?" Dean cocked a brow. "What do you mean blank?"
"Well it's exactly what I mean." The nurse reached into a manila folder and pulled out blank x-rays.
"Well, what about the ones this morning? Didn't she go in for another scan after she woke up?"
The nurse sighed. "That's just the thing, when we scanned her this morning, we were only able to get half a scan. Now there's not much to really worry about here, it could just mean that our x-ray machine is broken, or there is a small possibility of her having a very rare parasite."
"Parasite? From what exactly?"
The nurse grabbed the x-rays from Deans hand and went to speak but was stopped by a doctor.
"A Ms. Summers, glad I caught up to you. You still got those X-rays?"
"Yes, here."
"Good, the machine was broken. I managed to get the right pictures this time. Here you go."
"Oh uh, thanks Doc." She grabbed the folder and opened it. Looking over the pictures she sighed with relief.
"Never mind. Guess your friend is alright. She's able to be checked out whenever you're ready. If you need anything else just holler."
