Today was the day of the first task. You were so nervous for today as you knew Dragons were involved. Ced had promised you last night that he was going to be okay but you always had it in the back of your head that something would go wrong. You woke up early and got ready wearing a hoodie, some black flares and white trainers. You threw your puffer jacket on and left the Gryffindor Tower and headed to the first task.
You went down to the stands and sat next to Ginny. Looking back you saw Fred and George collecting bets.
''Hey Y/N, how are you feeling?'' Ginny asks.
''Nervous, this is so scary'' you say.
''Honestly they'll be fine, they know what they're doing'' Ginny replies giving you a hug.
''I best go see them before they start'' you say heading over to the champion's tent.
You enter the tent to see Cedric and Harry getting ready to go out.
''Ced how are you'' you say brining him into a hug.
''I'm honestly feeling great'' he says returning the hug.
''Great I hope everything goes well, you'll do amazing'' you say smiling.
''Young love! How stirring'' You turn around to see Rita Skeeter taking a photo of the two of you as you pull apart.
''You have no business being in here, this is the champion's tent for champions and friends only'' Victor says.
''No matter, we got what we needed'' Rita says leaving the tent.
''Anyways I better leave, it'll be starting soon.'' I say on my way out. ''Oh and good luck to you too Harry'' you say smiling as you leave the tent.
I go back to my seat seeing that Fred and George had came to sit with us. I squash between Ginny and Fred as I watch the task. Ced was first to do the task, he came out into our view with the dragon chained in front of him. He transfigured a rock into a dog to distract the dragon as he ran for the egg I got so nervous. It wasn't until he retrieved the egg I realised I was squeezing Fred's hand. I take my hand and place it on my lap quickly as I watched the rest of the champions complete the task feeling awkward as ever.
Before I went to the common room to celebrate Harry completing the first task, I went to see Cedric. I jumped onto him giving him wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs round his waist.
''You did it Ced! Well done, you were amazing'' I said jumping down from him.
''Thank you Y/N, are you not going to your common room to celebrate'' he asks.
''I'm going up now, I just thought I'd come see you'' I say
''I'll walk you if you like'' he says.
''Yeah if you like'' you say as you walk to the Gryffindor common room.
You get to the common room and wave your goodbye to Cedric to be met with a loud screeching noise.
''What on earth is that?'' you ask as you enter the common room with your hands over your ears until Harry closes the egg.
''It's the egg, it's meant to be a hint to the next task'' Harry says.
''Well that doesn't sound too great'' I reply.
We celebrated Harrys win for the rest of the night and eating all the food Fred and George had stole from the kitchens. It got to 10pm and I headed off to bed after yet another night of not speaking to Fred.
