The One: Fred Weasley X Reader

T W E N T Y - O N E

The next day everybody was instructed to come to the great hall for a memorial ceremony in memory of Cedric. You woke up feeling drained, you couldn't even cry. You had slept in the necklace he had bought you, you didn't want to take it off yet. You got yourself ready looking the best you could in your robes and headed to the great hall, everyone was already down there. You walked into the great hall, your friends looked at you as you walked past them until someone grabbed your arm.

''Come sit with me please Y/N'' Fred said turning me around.

''I'm just going to sit with Harry'' I said as his hand dropped from my arm and he gave me a nod.

I sat down next to Harry at the table.

''How are you'' I asked.

''Better, you?'' he asked.

''Better'' I said with a small smile.

''Usually this would be a day of celebration of the end of another year at Hogwarts but today we acknowledge the terrible loss of a student.'' Dumbledore's eyes lay on the Hufflepuff table where Cedric would normally sit.

Harry lay his hand on top of mine to comfort me. He knew how hard this was for me as I did for him.

''I therefore think you all have the right to know how he died'' he pauses. ''He was murdered by Lord Voldemort'' 

The hall flooded with gasps of students while I tried to contain my tears but one escaped.

''The ministry did not want me to inform you of this but if I did not this would be an insult to his memory.'' He paused again.

''Remember the boy who was kind, brave and true till the very end'' he finished.

After the ceremony the three schools said their goodbyes to one another. You only had one year left until the end of your time at Hogwarts. You walked to the station on your own, you still weren't in the talking mood. You boarded the train and decided to sit in your own compartment. As the train pulled away you fell asleep.

Fred's Pov

I was sat in a compartment with Lee and George, we were all really worried about Y/N. She hadn't really spoke to us since the start of the task. She decided to sit in her own compartment too, I wanted to go see her but I knew she just needed time on her own.

''Let's go check on her'' I say.

''Are you sure, she seemed like she wanted to be on her own'' George says.

''Yeah but when do we ever listen, I just want to see if she's okay'' I say.

''Yeah Fred's right, lets just see if she is okay'' Lee says.

We leave the compartment and go to Y/N's which was only two down. We open the door to her compartment to see her fast asleep, her head resting on the window. She looks so peaceful when she sleeps, I'm going to miss her so much when she goes home. I miss when she was happy, she was like a ray of sunshine, her smile was perfect.

''You two go if you like, I'll just stay here to make sure she's safe'' I say, they both nod there heads and return to their compartment.

I sit next to her and lay her head on my shoulder as I stroke back her hair from her face with my arm around her. She isn't going to be the same for a while, I can tell. I feel a tear go down my face as I look at her, I just miss her happiness so much. We stay like this for a while until we are nearly at the station then I get up from my seat and head to George and Lee.

''Was she okay'' George asks.

''She never woke up, I don't think she got much sleep last night'' I say.

Y/N's Pov

I woke up as I felt the train come to a halt, we were at Kings Cross Station, I couldn't wait to see my Uncle Remus. I got my stuff and exited the train and started looking for my uncle. I saw him from across the platform and ran to him getting the most welcoming hug. He was with Tonks and Sirius.

''I missed you so much'' I say into his chest.

''I missed you too Y/N/N'' he says hugging me. 

''Hi Tonks it's so nice to see you again'' I say hugging her.

''It's great to see you too Y/N'' she replies. 

''Sirius and Harry are going to be staying with us this summer until Grimmauld Place is cleaned up a bit'' my uncle says.

''Oh really, that'll be nice, it's nice to see you again Sirius'' I say, I like Sirius, he used to live at my Uncle Remus' house when I was younger and he used to read stories to me, that was before he got put in Azkaban of course.

''Great to see you again Y/N, it's been quite some time'' he says pulling me into a hug.

''I think someone wants to say goodbye to you Y/N'' says my uncle.

I turn around to see Fred.

''Goodbye Y/N, write to me this summer?'' he says.

''Y-yeah sure, goodbye Fred'' I say as I wave him off. I just wasn't in the talking mood to talk.

 We apparate back to the cottage and I show Harry and Sirius their rooms. I go to my room and unpack all my belongings and lay down on my bed and fiddle with my necklace. I reminisce on all the fun times I had with Ced, I had the most amazing time at the Yule Ball with him. We must've looked so amazing together dancing, we were so drunk we were just laughing at everything we were saying. I miss him so much, I then see an owl tapping me on my window with a letter. I open the window unfamiliar with the bird, I take the letter and give him a treat.

Dear Y/N,

We never spoke at Hogwarts but I knew how close you were with Cedric Diggory, I just thought I'd give you this due to his passing.

I looked back in the envelope to see a moving photo of me and Cedric dancing and laughing at the ball. I was so happy to have this memory in a photograph. I took a photo frame out of my draw and placed the photo inside of it and on my bedside table. I then wrote a letter back to Colin saying thank you. I looked at the photo for quite a while, how we danced so perfectly and his amazing smile, I tear rolled down my face as I admired the kindest boy I had ever met.

''I love you so much Ced'' I cried

----I lit cried writing this, I actually love Cedric so much. I hope you enjoyed this year at Hogwarts and I will be writing again some time today----
