The Unknown- Jasper Hale

"Hey Georgie," Tyler calls as I enter the science lab.

"Hey Tye," I reply with a small smile. We spend a while in a comfortable silence. Bella is sat in front with her head in her hands on the desk the whole time, while I've decided that this year I would like to kind of do well in my exams- not too sure if it is currently going to plan.

"Georgie, Are you sleeping okay?" He mutters to me, to which I nod my head at, "Just let me know if you need anything, me and Lauren are always free to help," He finishes, to which I give him a quick small hug, which he takes as a thank you.

"You coming Georgie?" Bella asks as we leave the classroom.

"No I'm just nipping home," I say before heading the way to walk back.

"She'll be fine," Bella mutters before seeing the anxiousness in my eyes, "Okay come on I'll drive you,".

We both reach Bella's vintage looking truck quickly, due to no one else leaving. My mind for some reason feels more anxious about checking on my ma. "Bella please hurry," I shakily say. To which she just nods starting up the engine. 

Quickly getting out of the truck while it's still moving, "What the hell Georgie!" Bella yells as I run in the house. 

"Ma!" I call, to hear no reply. Quickly rushing up the stairs I open her bedroom door to see her lying on the bed. Immediately putting my hand across her heart to feel barley a pulse- her heart is slowing down. 

"BELLA!" I scream, to which she comes rushing up the stairs, "Call 911," Is the last thing I say before grabbing my mothers hand and try not to cry.

"Hello, we need an ambulance now," I hear Bella's voice faintly say, "16 Hillgrove," She continues to say calmly.

Within minutes an ambulance is at the house, carrying my almost dead mother into the van. Before the loud rings of the sirens can be heard for everyone miles around. It is rare that we ever hear an ambulance in Forks. In fact the only ever time that I have heard one before was when Bella was nearly hit by a car, but that time Bella had someone to save her, and I hope the same can happen to my Ma.

"Come on I'll take you to the hospital," Bella calmly says, with her hand on my back. I gratefully receive this offer and head back to the brunets truck.

The time in the truck seems to take forever, although in reality it was only five minutes. Bella slows down the truck to this time not have me jumping out. We both sit in silence at what we had just witnessed for a minute.

"Do you want me to come in with you?" Bella asks calmly.

"No it's okay," I say while lightly shaking my head, "Thank you!"

Getting out the car with a sigh, I look up at the big white building. The building which always seemed quite small but now felt taller than the empire state and longer than, well never ending. I slowly walk into the main reception, and head up to the receptionist. 

"Urm hello," I say getting the ginger bobbed woman's attention, "I've come to see my mother- Helen Wood, she's just been brought in," 

The woman gives me a pitied look. Perhaps because of my age, or she knew my story, but perhaps because that's what you have to do as a receptionist.

"Yes, she's just in surgery right now. Wait down that all," she points her arm to the left, "The doctors will tell you when you can see her,"

"Thank you," I say with a small heading in that direction.

Without thinking I take out my phone and call Jasper. Only to hear the standard voicemail sound, which Bella must hear way too often. 

"Hey Jasper," I say to the voicemail as if he was listening, "I- I don't know why I'm calling. I think it's because I'm used to calling you," I trail off, "Anyway my Ma's just been taken into hospital," my voice starts to break, "She's, well she's really ill- I'm not sure if she will make it. Please just give me a sign if you hear this," I hang up before allowing my tears to fully fall down my face.
