The Unknown- Jasper Hale

It was at eight am when my alarm went off for school that a certain Cullen came through my window. He looked tired and restless, despite a vampire not being able to feel these things.

"Jasper," I say cupping his face, "What's wrong?" He moves back, as if he is scared of my touch. "What's wrong?" I repeat.

"Bella got a paper cut yesterday," He said in a hurry, "And I couldn't control myself." he breaks down as much as a vampire can due to their lack of tears.

"Come on let's go out," I say grabbing his hand.

"But what about school?" He asks.

"We can miss it for one day," I reply, while leading him out before my mother notices.

After ten minutes of walking peacefully we are by a stream in the woods.

"I don't want to hurt you," He mutters while looking at me, "I could never forgive myself."

"Jasper you will never hurt me," I softly reply, trusting the blonde boy with all my heart.

"But what if I do- I could have killed Bella. She almost died!" He yells the last bit into the empty forest.

I just hug Jasper, as this the only way which I can try and calm him down during this anger. Jasper rarely gets angry, in fact this is the first time I've seen him properly angry.

"But you didn't Jas," I whisper, before he hugs me back. We stay hugging for a couple of hours, some part of me felt like this was the last time in a while that I would feel this, but I brushed that thought aside.

"Jasper," I say after a while looking up at him.

"Georgie," He replies back with a slight smirk.

"Happy Birthday!" I whisper, "I got you something but it's in my room and you kind of already saw it," I continue quickly, to which he just smiles.

"You know when you're as old as me you don't celebrate your birthday anymore," He smiles at me, brushing one of my hair from off my face.

"I don't care it's still special," I smile back at him

"I'm over a hundred years old G," He laughs.

"Ew I'm dating a old man," I joke back, causing us to both laugh, before I pull him into a kiss.

"Will you stay with me tonight?" I ask quietly as we approach the house in which I call home. Jasper looks away as if he's questioning if he should, "Please," I beg, trying to give him some form of puppy eyes to the six foot three vampire.

"Okay," He says, although he still looks as if he's not sure. I take this time to put out my little pinky in which he connects with his. Then skipping inside as if nothing had happened.

"You okay Ma?" I ask, confused at seeing the forty year old woman in bed at four pm. To which she just nods in her sleep. I go to get a glass of water, placing it on the table besides her before heading to my room and finishing that painting which I never got to finish before.

Jasper did keep to our promise that night and climbed through the bedroom window by my bed. Getting into bed besides me carefully. The Bella incident was still clearly bothering his mind as I snuggled into him.

"Jasper you're not going to hurt me," I mutter, causing him to loosen up from his stiff frame, "I love you," I whisper kissing his lips for falling asleep.

I wake up to see that Jasper is still there, making me slightly relieved. He kisses my forehead lightly before heading towards the window, with my gaze following his every move from the comfort of my bed.

"I- I won't be in school today," He says, causing me to frown with confusion.

"How come? Is it going to be sunny?" The confusion becoming clear with my tone of voice.

"No, but I have some family stuff to deal with," He hesitates before adding, "I'll see you later," 

"Wait!" I say, while pulling out his gift from under my bed, "Your present," 

"Thank you," He says with a light almost fake smile, before leaving through the window with the gift now in his hand.

Despite recognising his oddness, I brush it off as if it was normal and carry on with my day.

It was noticeable that the Cullen's all weren't in when Bella was also sat alone in Biology. Tyler had been off the day before so I gathered that he also wasn't in. "Mind if I sit?" I ask to Bella, giving her a small smile.

"Urm," She hesitates before giving a small smiles back, "Yes."

"Edward not in too then?" I point out, as if it wasn't obvious by me sitting in his chair.

"No- they're all not in," She adds, "Georgie, I'm so sorry about Jasper and..." She trails on.

"Bella it's fine, you're fine, Jasper's fine and everyone's okay," I reply back trying to calm the scared human down.

"Edward, he's urm well being distant," She starts in a panicked voice. However can not finish due to the shouts that come from the Biology teacher about some form of plant.

The rest of the day went by quite slowly. I sat with Bella's old friendship group who were nice enough. Bella however stayed silent the whole time, looking at the Cullen's now empty table, while I did the opposite and refused to look at it.
