Chapter 1: EJ's Family

-Time Skip- It's the next day (Saturday) and Nini's arriving at Ej's
Nini: *I knock on the door*
Ej: *I open the door* Hey *I kiss your cheek* you ready?
Nini: I don't know, how scary are they? *laughs a little*
Ej: they'll love you *laughs* come on! *I take your hand and walk to the kitchen after closing the front door* Lynne... dad... this is Nini.
Nini: Hi Mr and Mrs Caswell, it's so nice to meet you two!
Todd: Hello Nini. We've heard so much about you.
Lynne: oh! You're the cheerleader Ej goes on and on about!
Ej: Lynne!
Nini: *laughs a little* I'm not surprised, this one is a little flirt
Elliot: *runs in* Daddy! Richie locked his room and I left my hot wheels in there!
Ej: *whispers to Nini* oh god, sorry... that's my little brother Elliot *laughs a little*
Nini: *Whispers* Don't apologize, he seems adorable *laughs a little*
Todd: It's almost time for dinner anyways, Elliot. You can get your cars when Ricky comes down to eat
Elliot: Okay, sounds good- Who's that?
Ej: This is Nini, now run along *laughs nervously*
Nini: Hey, don't shoo him away yet. I still gotta get in good with the family. Hey Elliot, I'm Nini. Ejs Girlfriend
Elliot: Hi! I'm Elliot! Ej's best friend!
Nini: His best friend?! That's so cool, I think we'll be good friends, Elliot
Elliot: me too, you seem really nice.
Ej: Hey don't be takin my girlfriend away from me *laughs*
Nini: *laughs*
Elliot: Daddy, what's for dinner?
Todd: chicken and rice. Will you go get your step brother?.... it's time to eat
Elliot: Got it! *I run upstairs and knock on your door* Richie! Dinners ready!
Ricky: *I don't respond*
Elliot: Richie?! Are you awake?!
Ricky: I'm not hungry
Elliot: But you have to come eat! Ej's girlfriend is here
Ricky: *I open the door* tell them I'll be down later, okay?
Elliot: But they said they wanted you downstairs
Ricky: I don't feel like meeting another girlfriend of your brothers... I'll be down later *I close the door*
Elliot: But- *sighs* *I walk back downstairs* He said he's not hungry
Lynne: He needs to- its fine. Today's about Ej and Nini anyway.
Nini: *Ej never said anything about a stepbrother...*
Elliot: Okay! *I sit down at the table* Nini, sit next to me!
Nini: *I laugh and sit down next to Elliot* Come on over, Ej
Ej: Don't bother Nini too much buddy *laughs* *I sit next to Nini*
Todd: So you're the cheer captain, correct?
Nini: Yeah, I have been since Sophomore year
Ej: And an incredible flyer... if I might add *laughs*
Nini: Oh stop *laughs*
Ej: I'm serious!
Nini: Mmm okay
Elliot: you can fly?!
Nini: No *laughs* It's a position in cheerleading. I basically just get thrown up in the air by other cheerleaders
Elliot: woah!
Nini: Woah is right *laughs*
*we finish up dinner*
Todd: well it was lovely meeting you Nini. We'll let you have your movie night with Ej. The theatre room is all yours
Nini: It was nice meeting you guys too, and you as well Elliot
Elliot: can I watch the movie too?
Todd: we can watch our own movie in mommy and daddy's room okay?
Elliot: Okay! Have fun watching a movie! Mommy, Richie never came to eat
Lynne: I know hun, he's just having one of his days
Nini: *Is he like... depressive or something?*
Ej: *we walk up to the movie room*
Nini: *I sit down next to you* What's the deal with your step brother?
Ej: oh, Richard is Lynne's son. When my father married his mother we had the pleasure of getting this son of her's as well. He's okay I guess but I'm not really a fan. I don't see him much. He goes to some specialized art school.
Nini: Oh... is he the same age as you?
Ej: yep
Nini: Do you guys just not get along?
Ej: it's not that we don't get along, we just don't care to get to know each other I guess. He does his own thing and I do mine.
Nini: I see... well what movie do you wanna watch?
Ej: like horror movies?
Nini: Not really, I'm very easily scared *laughs* But I'll watch whatever
Ej: we can watch IT? It's not too bad... and I'll hold you if you get scared *laughs a little*
Nini: Mmm sounds good
Ej: *I turn on the movie and put my arms around you*
Ricky: *about 20 minutes into the movie* *I open the door* will you turn it down? I have to do some shitty recording for school.
Ej: *I grab the remote and turn it down a little* There you go, Richard
Ricky: *I look at Nini a second* I guess Claire didn't last long
Ej: Can you just go, please? You have that thing you need to do anyways
Ricky: Fine. Just don't knock this one up *walks out*
Nini: He seems like a delight- wait, knock up?
Ej: He's making stuff up. I would never. Sorry, he can be an ass
Nini: *laughs a little* No, it's okay. He just seems a little intense, I guess
Ej: I guess you could say that
Lynne: *I see you about to walk back upstairs* Nope, you get over here Richard Bowen
Ricky: *I roll my eyes and walk over* what
Lynne: Why didn't you join us for dinner?
Ricky: I was busy
Lynne: Doing what?
Ricky: school stuff
Lynne: Well you could have paused it to come down and eat with everyone
Ricky: I feel like every week I'm coming down to eat with a new girlfriend of Ej's.
Lynne: Hey, you can keep those thoughts to yourself. This is the first time he's brought someone for us to actually meet in a while. But she seems like a nice fit for him and we'd all appreciate it if you could maybe just show a little care for everyone else in the house
Ricky: Yeah, sure mom. Can I go now?
Lynne: *sighs* Yeah, have a goodnight honey
Ricky: love you mom *I walk upstairs*
Nini: *The movie ends* That was absolutely terrifying and I don't think I'll be sleeping for the next month *laughs*
Ej: I'm sorry *laughs*
Ricky: *I walk by outside my window on the roof*
Nini: *I look outside* Is Richard... is he sneaking out?
Ej: Basically every night. I don't know where he goes or what he does but he'd kill me if I told my dad or Lynne.
Nini: Yeah, I don't want you dead *laughs*
Ej: yeah me neither *laughs*
