~Chapter Nine~

Kylie's Pov
"It's nice to meet you too, ma'am," Soda said with a big smile. She smiled at him and then looked at me. I was smiling too. "Right when Kylie walked in she had the biggest smile on her face I had seen in a while. It's been happening for a while now. I'm guessing that is all because of you," she said looking at me and then him. "I can tell you love each other. That's why I am talking to you guys now," she said as her smile faded. Worry crossed my eyes. I squeezed Soda's hand and he began rubbing his thumb on the back of mine. "It's about your brother. He wants Soda dead," she said looking at me. Tears dripped down my cheeks. I looked at Soda and he was surprised. "Why?" I said. She shook her head. "I don't know. I think it is because he is a greaser and you know your brother. He won't let a greaser take someone he loves, like your sister," she said as a tear ran down her cheek. I closed my eyes so the tears wouldn't flood out. They still did. "Your sister?" Soda asked sadly and quietly. "She was walking to her boyfriend's. He was a greaser. She got knifed on her way there. They found her body on the side of the road," I said looking into his eyes. He pulled me into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know." He got up and went to my mom. My mom looked in shock when he wrapped his arms around her. "I'm very sorry ma'am." He pulled away and she smiled. "Thank you, Soda." He nodded and sat back down by me. "I just wanted to warn you. I'm trying to win your dad over. Greasers can be nice people. I never told you this, but my dad was a greaser. He got killed in a rumble," she said still crying. I jumped up and hugged her. She knew that I was telling her my sincere apologies without me saying a word. I let go and sat back down. She smiled and looked at me. "If you want to, I'm sure your dad and me would be fine with Soda and you spending the night." I smiled at her, but in shock. Soda was also in shock. "Are you sure ma'am?" He asked surprised. "Of course, hun. I can trust y'all," she said winking. I jumped up and kissed her cheek. "We are gonna go run and get him some clothes," I said but then it hit me. "What about Samuel?" She paused and laughed. "Why are you laughing?" Me and Soda looked at her in shock. "Sorry. I forgot to say. Samuel is out with his girlfriend. They will be back in a week." I smiled at her and took Soda's hand. I led him outside and he got in my car. He drove us to his house. We parked and walked inside, smiling wide. Everyone looked at us surprised. "I thought it wouldn't end well. What happened?" Two asked.  "Well, we have good news and some bad news. But I'll fix the bad news," I said smiling at Soda. "What's the good news?" Pony asked. "Well, we are actually spending the night at her place. Her brother is gonna be gone for a week so her mom invited us to stay over. She is making her dad be ok with all of this," he said grinning wide. "And the bad news?" Darry said. I turned and looked at Soda and then back at them. "My brother wants Soda dead," I said with a sad look. "But I will kill him before he touches the love of my life," I said going back to grinning. "I'm a greaser after all. And you don't mess with my family." They all stood up and gave me a standing ovation. I bowed and we all laughed. Soda went to his room and grabbed a couple of clothes. "We will be back in the morning," he said waving. He left for the car and I told him I'd be out in a minute. I went up to Pony and hugged him. "Remember. I see the same sunset as you." He smiled at me and hugged me back. Then I walked to Johnny. I hugged him and he smiled. "My house is always available for you to sleep in." He gave me a smile. Then I went to Steve. I shook my head and hugged him. "Oh Steve, take care buddy." He laughed and hugged me. Then I walked to Darry. I hugged him. "Even if I haven't spent a lot of time with you, you have already been a better big brother than Samuel ever has." He smiled and hugged me. I walked up to Dally. "I don't want a hug." I smiled and hugged him anyways. He hugged me back. Last was Two. "Oh, Mickey," I said walking to him. He smiled. "Just give me a hug, Minnie," he said making us all laugh. I hugged him and kissed his cheek. He smiled as I stepped back a bit. "What is all this for?" Pony asked confused. "Well, I'm gonna do whatever I can to make sure my boyfriend is ok. So, I just wanted everyone to know that I love them." Darry frowned. "You say that as if you're gonna die," he said looking up at me. "I just don't know. If I die. I die. At least Soda lives." Two shook his head. "I know you more than anyone here. If Samuel makes you mad you'll kick his ass without hesitation." I smiled and looked at them all. "See y'all in the morning."
