The alarm began ringing. Groaning, I turn it off with my pillow, sitting up and yawning. I got out of bed, making my way to the bathroom, turning on the lights. I grab my toothbrush, rinsing it with water a bit and then uncapping my toothpaste, squeezing it on the bristles of my toothbrush.
I brush my teeth, looking at the mirror. Honestly, nothing has changed about me, but I guess the dark circles under my eyes have been slowly going away.
I turn on the faucet, rinsing my mouth with it and then putting my toothbrush under the water, then shaking the water off, putting it in the holder, splashing some cold water on my face.
I turn the water off, drying my hands and face with a towel, hanging it back up on the hanger. I walk out of the bathroom, turning off the lights and walking to my dresser and opening the drawers.
I grab a white shirt with baby blue sleeves, a pair of jeans and blue and white socks, changing in the bathroom, grabbing the things I need and putting on my shoes, grabbing the keys and unlocking the door, walking out and then closing the door, locking it. I walk down the sidewalk, making my way to school.

School was boring and normal, like always. Daydreaming of my crush, the English teacher being annoying and yelling at the class, the usual.
I sigh, walking to my locker, unlocking it and grabbing my things, until someone interrupted me.
"Hey," Someone said, closing my locker door. I turn towards them, "What-" Oh. Is he back to make fun of me again? I thought, waiting for Kokichi to speak.
"I've seen you around Rantaro all the time and I want you to ignore him for the rest of your life," Kokichi said in a serious tone. My eyes widened, what?! Ignore him?! I thought, "I.." I keep thinking, do I obey like all those past months or stand up for myself?
"I..- No. I will not," I say, no clue where my confidence came from.
Kokichi laughs, "Wooww, what happened to the old Shuichi? I still won't give up if you think that will discourage me," Kokichi said, smiling.
"Why do you even want me to ignore Rantaro?" I ask.
"Hmm.. that's a secret," Kokichi said.
I sigh, "Look, Kokichi, I already said no, so-"
"Do you want to see your friends suffer, Shuichi?" Kokichi said, staring into my soul.
"Wha-"
"Do you want your friends and Rantaro to suffer because of your stupid, idiotic answer?!" Kokichi said, raising his voice.
"W-What do you mean-"
"I saw everything, Shuichi. Don't be such a dumbass. I know what you and Rantaro are doing, and if you don't listen to me, your friends will all be gone," Kokichi said.
"That's not true! You won't-"
"You know why Tenko isn't here today?" Kokichi asks.
"She told us she was-"
"Wrong. She's not 'sick'. I made her believe that I would harm poor little Himiko if she goes to school today," Kokichi said, laughing.
"What?! That's- you're insane!" I said. He only laughs more.
"Are you going to obey or will I have to do this the hard way and harm your friends even more? Maybe I'll even harm him too.." Kokichi said, whispering the last part. Suddenly, it felt like my confidence was gone. If I just keep arguing.. we won't get anywhere.
"I-.. yes.." I said.
"There's the Shuichi I know! Thanks, I promise you're going to be great help," Kokichi said, walking home.
I stare at the floor, thinking over what Kokichi just said to me. Great help? I thought, trying to think of possibilities of what he means.
I'll have to ignore Rantaro for the rest of my life? I questioned myself. I hated that idea, ignoring one of my friends all because of Kokichi breaking my stupid confidence.
"That's the Shuichi I know! Thanks, I promise you're going to be great help,"
That sentence kept replaying in my head as I made my way home. Back to my old self..
I haven't changed for years, haven't I?
Have I really been a coward my whole life? I couldn't even stand up to Kokichi. He probably just lied right to my face and made me agree to something that I'll regret.
I drop my backpack, sitting on my bed and hugging my pillows.
