"Wow, we actually made some pretty decent pancakes," Kaede said, eating a piece of the pancake that was on her fork. I nodded, eating mines, sweater weather playing on the TV in the living room as we sat in the kitchen.
"Hey, Shuichi.. you've found your soulmate, right?" Kaede asks. I look at her, nodding slowly, "Well.. I just.. don't have the courage to talk to him.." I said, frowning. Kaede nodded, sighing sadly.
"Did.. you find your soulmate?" I ask, probably a wrong decision to ask. She shook her head. "I've never even met them.. Almost everyone I know has a soulmate at this point but I don't, I just want to meet them," Kaede said, putting her fork down and drawing something on the counter with her finger.
I felt sympathy for her, yet I don't know how to comfort her. She's always been there when I had my tough times, but now she's opening up to me, yet I have no clue how to comfort her. "Hey, it's okay. We all meet our soulmates at a different time, I'm sure you'll see them soon," I said, trying my best to at least cheer her up.
"..You think so? I just.. don't want to be left out. All the things we talk about are soulmates, it just.. I feel left out," She said, resting her head on the cold counter. "Yes. You'll meet your soulmate, we all do. Don't feel like you're left out, I'm sure they didn't mean to make you feel like that. Soulmates are a really popular topic to talk about, so I'm guessing they talk about it since it's really popular," I said.
"What if I don't meet my soulmate when I turn 21 then? Am I just going to die alone? I don't even get to experience love?" She asked. Right.. I forgot about that.. I thought. Dying alone, living alone..
"Look at me," I said, my tone was serious. Kaede looks at me, her head still resting on the counter.
"You are going to meet your soulmate. You're not going to be alone, I know you're going to meet them. It might not be today or tomorrow, but someday you will, okay?" I said. She nodded, "..Thanks, Shuichi."
"That's best friends are for, helping each other during tough times."

We spent the rest of the day watching movies until Kaede had to go home.
"Bye, Shuichi! It was fun hanging out with you again," She said, waving goodbye and walking back home. I close the door after she left, sitting on the couch, sighing.
It felt boring again. Usually Rantaro would be texting at this time, but it just feels weird to hear silence now. No notifications. Just pure silence.
I let sweater weather play on repeat, watching the clock's second hand ticking away, getting to 12 and then the minute hand changes, the second hand still ticking.
Eventually, I got bored and went on twitter, liking and retweeting tweets that I like, which were just a bunch of memes about Byakuya. There's even one where he had 8 legs, but it was pretty funny.

Ah, right. They're a band, I thought.
I sigh, turning my phone off and putting it on the glass coffee table, taking up all the couch and taking a small nap.

Hi hi! Hope you guys don't mind that I put in some of my ocs! I usually kind of do that when I run of out ideas how to make chapters a bit longer. We're really really close to the ending as well. Take care! - LaffyPss.. I might double upload.
