Adjusting!!

The sound of a bell has to be the worst way to wake up, I tried to cover my ears with my pillow, but it didn't work as well as i wished. When it finally worked, Dera started tapping me,wake up,the matrons will flog you if your bed is not made and you don't go for devotion.
My eyes immediately went wide open and I jumped down to arrange my bed.i wasn't a morning person and I absolutely hated this.After devotion I was given my morning duty which was the absolute worst,cleaning  the lobby,loads of people kept on coming and making it dirty, I had to keep cleaning and seniors kept on calling me to send me.I already hated school but this was a whole new level for me.
But that wasn't even the worst,I finally realised that I had to bathe in an open space in front of people.
This was the first time ever and I didn't even know how to react,I stood by the door for like five minutes till somebody told me I only had maybe ten minutes to be ready for school. I rushed in, closed my eyes and washed as fast as I could. Then ran out to my dorm to dress up. I couldn't talk for a while but before I knew what was happening, I saw people scrambling to run out.Dera said get your stuff and run out, the labour prefect is coming.
So! I shouted, we're late she said, if she meets us here we'd get punishments after school. At that I stuffed all I could into my school bag and ran after Dera.
I fancied myself a cool,calm and calculating person so this was absolute torture. This was not how I envisioned things going when I started this year.i wanted to cry out of frustration but I knew they were looking at me so I had to be strong .
When I finally made it out of the dorm room I realised I forgot all my books and I forgot a sock. I wasn't prepared for this, and I felt like I couldn't take it anymore. And I couldn't find Dera anywhere. I was frantic and couldn't recognize anybody around me.i looked like an absolute moron with only one sock on. I really didn't know what to do at that point. I carried my empty bag and began to walk with people I recognised from the hostel.when I reached the class I saw Dera surrounded by her friends, she was telling a story or something,  I went round and waited for her to finish then called her attention and told her what happened, she laughed a bit and shouted loudly in the class " announcement " who has an extra pair of socks for the princess.
I felt my face go red and my breathing rapidly increase ,I didn't understand why she'd do that. I guess she felt she was babysitting me and I tried to slink back into the shadows a bit, until I heard somebody giggle and say "I do".
I was so grateful ,she went ahead to tell me about how in her rush she picked up everything on her bed and threw it in her bag.she gave me after promises to replace them . I found out her name was Sharon. She seemed a nice sort, she even offered me a sit beside her.
I finally sat down with my hands on my head, muttered a prayer for strength.
I finally looked up and asked her what time was breakfast. She said it was by ten later.
