The list of people sweeping was eventually posted and I was supposed to sweep that day,Tola waved me good bye and I realized I was to sweep with beautiful whose name I later found out was Chima. I was standing waiting around for brooms,when one girl came in, swept what she claimed to be her portion, dropped the broom and left, Chima and the girl he was talking to giggled for some reason,I went and picked up the broom to start sweeping and baldy walked in, picked up his bags winked at me and left,I didn't realise I was staring Chima said Abuja babe! That's somebody's boyfriend oh.
Huhhhhh, my mind was reeling ,I thought ya'll hated eachother so who is he dating, I kept my cool and acted like I didn't care though as I tried to figure out how I got a crush on this person in like five hours, I felt irritated at being caught though, so I rushed and finished sweeping and hurried to go out, on my way out I bumped into somebody, ouch, sorry I said and I started to move back,I realized he was not from my class cause he wasn't too familiar, he looked at me and said sorry too, he lingered in his stare and I looked up to realise that if Chima was a beauty, this was a God, he had that beautiful fair complexion I longed for, with curly hair, eyes that fit perfectly in their glass frames, I already felt like this was a match made in heaven, we were eye glass buddies. And his height, I wasn't short , and he was towering over me, I realised I was staring again, he smiled and I felt my insides turn to mush, this made me move back abruptly, hi I'm Williams he said, I'm Jessica, oh yeahh you're the new girl everyone has been going on about, I just resumed and I thought I saw my twin walk in here, oh, I didn't notice any new girl coming in,he whispered you're the new girl, we're old!,I laughed and said yeah, since you're already going to the hostel I'd go with you so you'd help me get her , my mum wants to see her again he said.
He moved out of the way and let me come out, we walked together and he asked about why I transferred,where I transferred from, I found myself telling him stuff I'd ordinarily keep shut about, even about my dad calling me childish, he giggled at some of them and when we eventually reached the hostel, I asked for his sister's name and he said it was Jasmine, but that doesn't match,I thought it'd be Willa or something, I know he said lazily, my dad wanted to name us but my mum refused so she got to name her daughter a fancy exotic name,while I got stuck with a name that sounds like a stuffy, British aristocrat. I like your name I said,I like yours too and he winked.
I basically ran in on a cloud,what's with these boys and winking, it's like they found my Achilles heel.
I went in and asked for Jasmine and I was shown to another gorgeous girl, she wasn't as tall as her brother though, and she was dark like me, definitely not what I expected, I told her your brother is waiting outside for you, he says your mum is calling, ohh she said and ran out to meet him.
Getting to my bunk side,I met Chidera with her group of friends, I wasn't comfortable with too many people around but I said hi and climbed my bed.
She was loud and chirpy and her noise was suddenly irritating me,I covered my head and went to sleep.
I heard the bell and dropped down, I saw girls going to clean up and I went after them and washed face and feet, finally we were in the bunk side alone with Dera,I asked her about earlier and why she called me princess, she laughed and said it was a joke,I told her I didn't think it was funny though, she stared at me for a while and said sorry.
Told her thanks and went on dressing ,when was ready, I went to meet Sharon and I told her what happened, she smiled,I didn't know yo had it in you, I don't, I hate confrontation, I just didn't like the way she said it. You might be wrong though, we always make announcements like that and you might have to apologise to her because she actually helped you.
Oh I said and I went back and told her sorry and thank you also,I explained that I just didn't like being called princess and she said it was okay and we went for dinner.
