Groovy!!

Dinner was cool except I didn't like okro a lot, so I didn't eat too much and I didn't know what I'd do if I got hungry later, I walked quietly to the hostel trailing behind other girls and listening to their conversation, as I walked,I noticed the seniors were staying behind in pairs,apparently waiting for their girlfriends or boyfriends, it reminded me of my old school, couples used to walk home together and buy eachother stuff while their friends teased them along the way, it was so cool, but what I was seeing was almost serene like.
Some were sitting, others were standing, some weren't couples but they were in groups having heated conversations and playing within themselves, and others were sending junior students to get them stuff. As soon as we reached the hostel, the girls removed their compound wears and that was when the real fun started,a girl named Ozioma stood by the door and started playing awesome beats, the others joined in a circle and started singing along and dancing, I was in awe of how happy and carefree they looked,soon enough somebody dragged me to the circle to dance,I laughed and started to beg but they didn't let me so I had to dance.
And ohh did I dance,I think they were mostly shocked at how good I was but honestly dancing came easy to me , they were dragging other newbies to join in and girls from the other hostel came to join in, we were making the loudest noise but I was the happiest I had ever been since i stepped foot in this school. When i got tired i went to rest by my bunk side and Chidera was telling me how surprised she was to know i could dance, I told her thanks and asked if I could stay on her bed for a while,she let me stay and i waited there till all the excitement had died down . The air was still dusty and pungent with the dust and the smell of sweat but I really didn't mind, until I heard somebody ask for senior Jessie.
That's me dear,what's happening I asked, Senior Williams said I should call you, huh, my mouth popped open in surprise, why I asked and the girls around were giggling, soon enough other junior students came in to call other girls,I didn't pay attention as I dressed up but I did hear somebody tell a girl senior Teejay was calling her. My eyes looked over and saw her and I was like ohh so that's the girlfriend.
Somebody also called Chidera so I told her we'd go together, she didn't mind but she was taking way too long to get ready,she was reapplying "makeup", and cleaning everything and giggling excitedly ,I kept on asking her when she was ready, she kept on saying wait i have to look good. I rolled my eyes and thought how anybody could look good in these potato sacks,when she was finally ready we walked out and I felt my heart beat a little quicker with every step I took towards the hall.
Then I saw him, sitting on a sort of ledge in front of the hall, in deep conversation with baldy. They laughed and when he saw me he stood up and walked to meet me.
Took you long enough he said.
