"Yeah oh", they aren't dating, she has had a crush on him since our first year here, she thinks they'll be a sort of power couple like Jay z and Beyonce so  she finally decided to take the first move yesterday. Don't you think it's sweet, Sweet kor sweet ni I muttered quietly under my breath, I didn't catch that she said, oh I said it's actually very nice, she's really confident, I don't think I can do that though I told Hyelni, she laughed abs said me too.
She went on talking until it was time for devotion, which created chaos, the boys didn't want to stand up, the girls were shouting and complaining, I stood there leaning against my chair and really started noticing the architecture, the school was painted blue and yellow, and they had gardens in the school area, and it was really big, almost twice the size of my old school, the classes were not too big, there were two boards in this one, a white and black board, and there were smaller boards Hyelni said the class was going to decorate eventually, it was actually very nice, I was lost in thought when I felt a tap on my shoulder and Hyelni said, I was supposed to pray the closing prayer,I heard giggling but I closed my eyes and said the fastest prayer ever and sat down quickly when I was done.
What were you thinking about she asked, random things,I don't even know I said, she laughed and continued telling me stories about both teachers and the students.
It was finally time for class and the form teacher walked in, he was a little man with a cute fro, he didn't seem to like smiling though, he always had a scowl on his face.
He asked everybody to go back to the seat they'd been assigned, they all started mumbling, but the moment her started counting down from five, everybody rushed to do what he'd asked and baldy was behind me again.
If I come in next time and you're not in your seats, you will weed the dump and I'm sure you know how disgusting that is.New students stand up, your orientation is by 9 at the hall, don't go late or you'll be punished.
He proceeded to call the register then left the class. I thought baldy would say hi or something but he didn't and I was too shy to be the one to say hi so I kept quiet and when it was almost ten I started going to the hall with Chidera.
The orientation was a boring affair, we were told the rules of the school, we met the teachers and prefects and then we prayed.
By the time I got back to class,Lydia was sitting on my seat, giggling and talking to Baldy. I was at a lost of what to do,so i stayed in front of the class and stared for a minute until I noticed Hyelni calling me,I sat with her and said hi to Lydia, she responded but didn't even apologise for inconveniencing me,and they kept on talking, I was very uncomfortable because the seat was intended for only one person,I waited while they talked but it didn't seem to be ending any time soon.
I stood up and tapped her and said can you wrap this up, you're taking too long, she rolled her eyes at me and said    something about my black face, I didn't even hear her but I slapped her.
I was shocked at myself and quickly apologised but she stood up ready to slap me but baldy held her tight, she started screaming vile insults at me but I didn't even respond. A crowd started to gather and I felt the heat build up and I knew I had to leave that place, I turned around and found a way out of the circle while she continued with her string of curses,I noticed then that she had switched to yoruba and I wanted to leave faster.
When I was finally out of the class I saw Hyelni was behind me, she hugged me and said she understood why I was mad but slapping her was too extreme I nodded as droplets of tears started streaming down my face, then I saw Sharon smiling and coming to meet me with a nonchalant swagger .when she noticed the tears , she walked faster and gave me a bear hug and she asked if I was okay,I told her I was fine. "You go girl" somebody had to show that parrot she wasn't the queen here.
I giggled, I didn't know when I did it honestly Sharon I'm already insecure about my complexion and she was on my chair and being rude at the same time, you're a beautiful black queen and you shouldn't be sad , you're the most beautiful girl I know and don't ever be ashamed Jessie.
I needed that I said and the bell for breakfast was rung.
