Tendou dreaded his arrival home. His walk home was great, he talked to Ushijima a lot and got him to slightly smile... He didn't really know why he saw that as an achievement... But the moment they arrived at his house all of his worries flooded back in.
"Well... Here we are."
Tendou clapped his hands together, Ushijima humming in response.
"See ya around... Ushi-kun."
He took a step towards his house, stalling as long as possible.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow Tendou."
The red head sighed, knowing he won't be getting out of this.
"Is that woman still there?"
Ushijima said, turning around to face the smaller boy.
"I don't mean to upset you. You don't need to answer if you wouldn't like."
Tendou fiddled with his fingers before speaking.
"Yeah. She's my sister. She's gonna be here all week."
Ushijima could sense the concern in the read head's voice and expression.
"Well..."
Tendou looked up at the taller boy who was speaking.
"You have my number if you'd like to talk if it ever... you know... gets too much."
Tendou felt his mood brighten, as well as his cheeks.
"Yeah. Thanks."
He smiled slightly and skipped to his house.
"Ushijima! Ushijima! Heyyy!"
The olive-brown haired boy sighed.
"Yes?"
The little girl pulled at his shirt, continuing her whining.
"Come playyy! Come onn!"
He pushed her by her head.
"I'm sorry, Missui, I'm doing homework."
"But you're holding your phone?"
She pointed.
"Um, it's a calculator. Wait!"
The little girl started to climb on top of the taller boy's bed.
"Who's Ten-do?"
"Please, Missui!"
She didn't listen to the boy's pleads and grabbed his phone.
"Can I play a game-"
"Missui."
A firm voice came from the doorway.
"Come here, please."
The little girl shot up instantly and ran over to the woman.
"I still don't understand why she has to stay here. I'm supposed to be alone."
Ushijima spoke, fixing his papers and typing something quick on his phone.
"Wakatoshi, I already told you, there's no where else for her to stay. Plus, her aunt is coming to pick her up in a few days, anyway."
He glared, looking down at his pencil.
"If there's no space for her than why'd you take her in the first place?"
The woman sighed.
"I'm worried about you, Wakatoshi. It's not healthy for boys your age to seclude themselves like this."
"I already told you. Once I'm old enough, I'm gonna get a place of my own and live alone, just like before. Until then I'll have my own room here."
Ushijima carefully put his homework papers in his bag and the woman laughed, shooing the little girl away.
"I wish you best, Wakatoshi."
She sad with a sad tone before walking out of the room and closing the door.
