It was now June and summer break is all the students of Shiratorizawa seemed to talk about. Tendou and Ushijima however, seemed to have their minds set on different things. It had been a week since Tendou stopped talking to Ushijima and people were starting to get worried.

At first, everyone thought it would blow over soon enough, but more and more time passed and things only got worse. Tendou started trying to move on to other people, to learn what they're like, but he no longer found as much joy in it; it bored him. Things with his dad stayed the same, they barely talked to each other. Tendou still held a grudge against him, but tried not to make it obvious as he didn't want to cause more problems.

Everyone ran out of class as the bell chimed, talking among themselves and sharing gossip and secrets. There was no afternoon practice that day, so all of the boys of the Shiratorizawa volleyball team prepared to go home.

All except for one.

Tendou walked home, earbuds in and as lonely as ever. He turned the corner and walked across the street, entering his neighborhood.

"Tendou?"

The red head continued on his way, not hearing the other over his music.

"Tendou."

This time he whipped around and pulled out one earbud, his face melting into a scowl apron seeing who it was. His posture slouched as he shoved his hands in his pockets.

"What."

Ushijima fidgeted with his hands, looking down.

"Did you drop me?"

Tendou's face softened a little, turning more confused.

"What? The fuck?"

Ushijima flinched. The red head almost apologized, he had figured out that the olive haired boy didn't like it when people cursed or yelled.

"Did you drop me. Did you finally figure me out?"

Now it was Tendou's turn to flinch.

"Wh-"

"After that day with my mom..."

He looked up at the other with a pained expression.

"Did you finally figure me out? And realize you had no more use for me?"

Tendou's heart broke.

"I-"

He struggled with his words, tears tempting the edges of his eyes and throat burning.

"It's okay. I just want the truth."

Ushijima looked back down. Tendou pierced his lips together, stopping his words as he glanced at the window of his home.

"I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE!"

The taller boy flinched, harder this time. He looked up again and began to speak.

"We-"

"JUST-"

Tendou froze, peering down in shame.

"I'm not supposed to hand out with fags."

And with that, he turned around and walked away, leaving the other to ponder.

Once again.

"Satori."

A voice followed the sound of Tendou slamming the front door. The voice was firm, sounding mad. The red head looked up to see his dad standing in front of him, arms crossed.

"Yes."

Tendou replied.

"Why was that boy there with you? I thought I told you."

Tendou's hands formed into fists, trying to hold back his rage with no success.

"I WAS TELLING HIM TO FUCK OFF, OKAY?"

The mad stepped back, shocked.

"Satori-"

"THATS WHAT YOU WANTED, RIGHT?"

The boys voice quivered as tears once again jerked his eyes. The man still stood shocked.

"RIGHT?"

He whipped a tear that had fallen down his cheek.

"YOU WANTED ME TO TAKE THE ONLY REAL FRIND IVE HAD IN A LONG TIME AND TELL HIM TO FUCK OFF SO I COULD BE ALL ALONE AND BARLEY FUNCTIONING LIKE YOU. JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T LEARN HOW TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOURSELF AND LET PEOPLE LOVE WHO THEY WANT!"

A small cry left his mouth. He stood there for just a moment more to let his dad process, before running to the stairs.

"Oh and by the way, dad."

He turned his head to face the man with a sad smirk.

"If your wanna call someone a fag, go ahead and say it to me. I doubt Ushijima even likes guys."

And with that he ran up the stairs into his room.

The man was left there in shock.
