"USHIWAKA-KUN! NOO DON'T LEAVE YET!"
The olive-brown haired boy stopped getting in the car momentarily to see his red headed friend bolting towards him, screaming.
"USHIWAKA!!"
He took his backpack off and threw it in the car, meeting Tendou half way. The shorter boy took a moment to catch his breath, struggling to speak.
"I- ahh.. I wanted to-"
He panted again.
"I wanted to say goodbye.."
Ushijima stood in front of him, slightly confused.
"Oh well-"
Tendou threw himself into Ushijima's chest and squeezed as tight as he could, making the taller lose his breath for a moment.
"I don't want you to go..."
Ushijima wrapped his arms around the boy and he loosened his grip.
"It's okay. I'll be back before you know it."
Tendou brought himself away from the taller boy's chest, eyes glossed over.
"Promise..?"
He gripped onto Ushijima's shirt and held out a pinkie.
"I promise."
He shot him a small smile, making the red head do the same and bringing his pinkie to the other boy's. He pulled him in for one more hug before Taro had to intervene, as much as she didn't want to.
"Alright, boys break it up. Wakatoshi come on."
She patted the olive-brown haired boy on the back signaling for him to get into the car.
"Who are you?"
Tendou pointed up at the woman, confused.
"Oh uh I'm Taro. You're Tendou, right?"
The boy nodded enthusiastically and hummed.
"Your the lady my dad was talking about."
She cringed.
"Yeah.. Probably."
She got into the drivers seat and told Ushijima to get in the car, too.
"Oh wait I almost forgot!"
Tendou ran to Ushijima and brought something out of his pocket.
"Here!"
Ushijima took the small object from him.
"In case you get hungry or something on the plane ride.."
He smiled brightly and put his hands into his pockets. Ushijima looked down at the small, half eaten package of orange tic-tacs.
"Thanks."
He climbed into the car and moved his backpack off of his seat, shutting the door.
The boys waved at each other as the car pulled out and headed towards the airport. Ushijima took out the small pack and shook one of the candies onto his hand.
He smiled.
