"SATORI!"

The man yelled after hearing the front door slam. He shot up from the table, not really minding the tea that was spilling out of his cup.

"WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!"

The red head slipped off his shoes and skipped across the living room, a smile on his face.

"Ushiwaka-kun is my boyfriend now."

He glided up the stairs and entered his room, closing his door more gently than he did the front door.

"What-"

His father stood there, absolutely confused. He brought a hand up to his head and slowly sat back down.

"What...."

That wasn't completely true, what Tendou had said. Ushijima wasn't his boyfriend. They weren't even dating. He honestly didn't know why he had said that, probably just to piss off his dad. Although they were aware of each others feelings. After that moment on the roof, which was apparently the roof of Ushijima's foster home, the boys said nothing else to each other. They simply sat there, watching the sun lay to bed and the stars come alive.

It was a peaceful moment, one that neither of them will forget. You know thoes moments? When the mood is just right and you want it to last forever. When the lighting is this certain way that you'll never be able to recreate. It lives in your memories bringing you joy and sadness because you'll never be able to get thoes times back. Though, they didn't need to worry about things like that now.

Right?

"Wakatoshi."

The woman stood at the door, fiddling with her hands.

"Hm?"

The olive-brown haired boy looked up from his phone from his spot on his bed. When he looked at her, he froze. Her face was pained and full of guilt. He gulped.

"Uhm, I'm afraid I have some news I don't think you'll like..."

He set down his phone and sat up.

"What?"

She scratched the back of her head and opened her mouth to speak.

"Ah,,"

She closed it again.

"Taro. Tell me."

He spoke, only a small quiver in his voice.

"Your going to California for the summer."

His eyes widened. He knew exactly what this meant.

"What?! No!"

He stood up.

"Wakatoshi, you know I can't-"

"I'm not going! No way."

She put her head in her hands.

"You can't what? You know what she's done to me."

"I know, I know. But there isn't anything I can do. You have to."

She walked over to his bed and pushed lightly on his shoulder to indicate he should sit. She sat down next to him.

"I don't have to do anything."

He lifted up his knees and put his head in them.

"She's your mother, Wakatoshi. If I said no she would take me to court and both of us know she could win. It's too much of a risk on my part."

She stood up.

"You should start packing some time soon. You'll be leaving on Saturday."

She walked to the doorway but then froze.

"Your a smart boy. You know this is for the best..."

She looked back at the olive-brown haired boy and frowned.

"I'm sorry."

He looked at the empty corner of his room where Missui had been set up not to long ago. He hoped she was happy living with her aunt. He hoped that she wouldn't abandon the girl. He hoped that for anyone.

"Hey, hey!"

Tendou picked up a container of orange tic-tacs and shook it, making a loud noise.

"I haven't had these in forever."

He smiled and put them in his pocket.

"Yeah. Why are you putting them in your pocket?"

The red head continued looking around the shelves.

"Why not."

He picked up a off-brand candy pack before putting it down again. Ushijima stood there, staring at Tendou. They locked eye contact.

"Oh my gosh don't worry I'm gonna pay for it!"

He laughed and continued looking. Ushijima, seeming satisfied, looked around as well.

"What drinks would you like?"

Ushijima walked over to the large fridge thingies that held all of the drinks.

"Uhh I'll take a coke."

He walked over, hands full of candy, and stood next to the taller boy.

"Ooh you think you could get away with buying alcohol..?"

The red head said mischievously.

"What?"

Ushijima stoped grabbing the coke from the freezer half way.

"No way."

Tendou tilted his head.

"Well you look way old so they probably wouldn't even notice!"

Ushijima shifted the coke into his other hand and then grabbed a Pepsi.

"I don't think that's a good idea. Plus, we're way too young to be drinking."

The shorter sighed.

"Ughh so responsible.."

He grabbed another candy pack and added it to his over-stuffed pockets.

"You know we're not getting all of that, right?"

Ushijima walked to the chip section and Tendou pouted.

"Fine. Buzzkill."

"That'll be 13.57"

The guy at the desk said, typing things into the cash register. Ushijima fiddled with the money he took out of his pocket.

"Hey, Ushiwaka."

Tendou whispered at the taller boy.

"That guy looks weird.."

Ushijima looked at him oddly.

"Oi, brat. You know I can year you, right?"

The man glared at the red head.

"Yup!"

He smiled and took half of the pile of candy and things.

"Sorry about that, sir. Thank you."

Ushijima set the money on the table and grabbed the rest of the stuff. The man pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and then a lighter.

"Brats."

That may or may not have been Ukai... hehehe
