"What we're you guys thinking?"

Tendou shifted in his seat, avoiding eye contact and looking at the floor.

"I mean really. I expected better from Ushijima at least."

Ushijima nodded.

"I am very sorry, Kondo."

Tendou struggled with his mind before speaking.

"He didn't do anything."

Kondo looked at him, confused.

"Well, he stopped me from punching Murakami. He didn't actually do anything bad."

The captain looked back at Ushijima and then at Tendou again.

"Very well. Thank you for that, Ushijima. You can leave the room for now but I will talk to you later."

Ushijima looked at Tendou surprised, then stood up and bowed.

"Thank you, goodbye."

He left the room leaving the red head with Murakami, Hashimoto and Kondo.

After some heavy scolding from Kondo, the three boys left the room feeling defeated. Hirano walked over to the captain and whispered with him before speaking to the whole team.

"Everyone! Stop mopping around, come on! Let's practice!"

He clapped his hands together and started running around, patting people on the backs.

"What are we gonna do today?"

Semi asked, grabbing a volleyball from the basket.

"How about you guys decide?"

The boy grinned.

Practice that morning was genuinely fun. Everyone got to pick their own game to play with the team and it turned out to be a great day, contrary to the morning. Soon enough, everyone had to head to class. Tendou and Ushijima walked to their Japanese class together, talking about their favorite ice cream flavors. (Tendou likes raspberry sherbet and Ushijima likes green tea, though Tendou wants to try what spicy ice cream would taste like.)

"Good morning. Please take your seats."

Miss Suzuki smiled at the boys as they walked into the class.

"Good morning, Miss Suzuki!"

The class chimed.

"Today we will be getting into groups and reading our new class reading book, Snow Country."

She spoke, handing out books to the class.

"Your partners are the person sitting next to you. Read to chapter 8."

She sat down at her desk and let the class begin.

"Well, looks like we're partners, Ushi-kun!"

The olive-brown haired boy nodded and picked up his copy of the novel.

"Chapter one."

Classes went by slowly, every moment dreadful for Tendou. He only wanted to be out of class already and in volleyball practice. He wanted to play, and practice, and walk home with Ushijima... Wait what? No! He wasn't exited for that, just to finally get out of school. That's it and that's all. He sat through the last moments of his home ec class (it had been a particularly boring day for that class) until the bell finally chimed.

The red head shot up immediately and shoved his things in his bag, running out of class and through the halls.

"No running in the halls!"

Tendou rolled his eyes and continued on his way to the gym.

Practice had gone just like it had that morning. Everyone had fun and for once, they all got along. The end of practice was something that they were all dreading but in the end it is still inevitable. The boys all said goodbye as they got on their bikes and headed home.

"Tendou."

Kondo called right as the red head was about to walk out of the gym. Cringing, he turned around to face the captain.

"Yea?"

He knew exactly what was coming.

"Why don't you stay behind and help Takashi and I clean up?"

Kondo smirked, Hirano laughing. Ushijima turned around, wondering where the usual "Ushi-kun, wait up!" was. He saw Tendou walk back into the gym and figured that Kondo had probably called him back inside. Oh, He thought. I suppose I'll just wait for-

"Wakatoshi...?"
