Caitlin's pov

"You know you could sell your holograms, around the city. A world made out of virtuality "
Ralph was joking. I smiled a bit absently.
"Yeah and then the entire internet will break down. But you know what actually would work?..."

I didn't hear what else Cisco said. I was too much in thoughts.
I was sitting in the cortex with Ralph and Cisco. Sherloque was already gone. And Barry and Iris had disappeared too. Everybody had been comforting me. I was so glad, that I had such good friends.
And while Ralph and Cisco were talking about holograms,
my head was spinning, and I tried to process what Barry had told me in the hall. I mean I had no Idea what I should say to him when we would talk again.
And...

"What do you think, Cait?"

Cisco interrupted my thoughts.

"Sorry, I wasn't listening. about what are we talking now?"

"Never mind" Cisco smiled
"Let's talk about it tomorrow, you seem tired"

"Actually I am not that tired. I don't think I could sleep right now"
I answered.

"Well, I could" Ralph said
"I think I am going back home now, good night guys"

"Night!" We said

When Ralph left. Barry entered the Cortex.

I saw him and the feelings flashed back into my body.

"Are you feeling better?"
He asked.

"Yes I do! Cisco made me a tea and having everybody around me calmed me done." I gave Cisco a thankful look.

"But you are not okay!" Cisco said and now pointed at his wound.
"Dude, why didn't you come earlier to fix that?" he added.

"It just started bleeding again. And Caitlin just came back from a kidnapping, I didn't want to bother her" He said.

"What? no... I mean I am fine, fine enough to look at your wound"

I felt bad, that I hadn't checked him out, earlier. But in my defense he wasn't here.

"Thats what I came for now" he said with a smile

I nodded.

"Alright, I'm going home then, we all deserve a break" Cisco said.

"Get some sleep guys!"
And gone he was!

I started to get nervous. Now we were alone and I didn't know if I should talk about anything or just let it go. But then again I did wanna say all those things. That he had turned my life upside down...again. And that..."

"Cait...?"

"Yeah?"

"Are we going to look after my shoulder now?"

"Sorry yeah sure" I couldn't say anything, not now, he was probably having enough trouble.
I just had to avoid him, but that wasn't easy if I had to fix his shoulder.

Barry's pov

I sat down on the couch in her lab and opened my shirt, while Caitlin got some things.

She cleaned out my wound carefully. Her hands worked precisely. When she touched my shoulders a pleasent tingling went through my body.
I wanted to say something but I didn't want to disturb her. And I sensed some nervosity from her side. She was as focused on the wound as this was a surgery. She didn't look at me nor did she say something except telling me that putting the sodium on it would  hurt.
She was not really looking at me once. But kept busier, than she had to. It kinda drove me crazy. I just wanted to hold her arm to stop her for a second and force her to face me. But than again she was getting me patched up.

"How long will it take to heal"? I asked a trivial question instead.

"Probably you are okay tomorrow" she said putting a band aid on my wound.
She tightend every corner excessively cautious.

I couldn't stand it anymore, I had to say something

When she realised there was nothing to tighten, she hestitated for a second, letting her hand rest on my shoulder and biting her lips absently, as she would think about something to say. But she didn't. She was about to turn around.
But before she could go or find something else to put on my shoulder just to avoid me, I knew thats what she was doing, I used that moment and put my hand on hers, to force her to face me finally. She paused in her movement.

"Cait, it's okay I am good, no need for extra beautiful band aids"

She blushed, I could see it, even if she was more looking on the ground than at me"

"Okay" she said looking at my hand, which was still resting on hers, now.

"I've talked to Iris" I just let out before she would move away now.

She looked up a little bit, but still didn't face me.

"you did? about what?" she asked

I swallowed. Not moving my hand and still looking at her.

"We broke up, we decided both it's best if we are getting a divorce"

"Oh...I.. I am sorry" Caitlin finally looked up while she said it. Our eyes met. There was this tension and all this passion again. This one look, that said more than 1000 of words. Those dark eyes that hold so much pain but even more braveness, that made me feel protected and loved. I could just loose myself in her.
My throat was dry.

"Don't be" I almost whispered

She hold my eyes with hers a little longer, while our faces came slowly a little closer.

Then we kissed. It was a gentle kiss.
"I love you Cait" I whispered. It just came out, but it was the truth. She looked at me, a little smile on her face
"I love you too, Barry" She answered. Than our lips crashed together again, less gentle than before and defenetly more passionate.
I never could have imagined, that a kiss could reflect such deep feelings. I felt like beeing in another world, one that I had never entered before. She found the truth inside her and I found the truth inside me. It felt like home.
