THE CAR RIDE WAS smooth but not quiet, right now they were trying to find their way towards Luna. Alexander hoped that she'd take the flame so he wouldn't have to. But with his luck he knew he would have to be the next commander, it was his destiny.
"Becca's journal is amazing, At 26, she found a pathway to access a human mind," Raven stated as she flipped through the pages of the journal. "That same year, she had to lock up Alie, because her answer for what was wrong with the world was 'too many people'. She was 27 when she launched the bombs."
Clarke turned towards Raven. "what did she write about the Flame?"
"Alie 2.0, she saw it as a way to atone for her sins. She designed it to not just access a human mind but to merge with one. It could never wipe us out because it would be one of us. She would put it in herself first. Altered her genes so her body wouldn't reject the implant." Raven responded
Alexander nodded. "Bekka Pramheda, the first Commander. It all makes sense, when she altered with her genes it made her blood black. Creating Natblida"
"How did you know that?" Octavia questioned
"Nightblood. That's where it came from. Somehow it became hereditary. Luna has it. That's why we have to find her. If she can access Alie 2–"
"Then she can tell us how to stop Alie-1. But I don't get it, Alex and Lexa are both blood siblings so if you're a nightblood too why can't you save us the hassle and just implant it now." Octavia interrupted
Alexander sighed. "No one knows I'm a Nightblood, plus it's a rule. A family can't exactly become Heda after another. We're supposed to wait, so that's why Luna is the main option." he said as he turned his attention towards Octavia. "if anyone finds out I'm Nightblood right now it'll cause problems and I'm not in Polis to stop it."
"Eyes sharp. Weapons hot. We're almost home." Bellamy said from the Driver's seat, he picked his radio up. "Miller, come in. Harper, you there? Your rides two minutes out."
"Good start," Jasper whispered, earning a look from everyone. Once they were in front of Arkadia, Alexander and Bellamy and Octavia were out of the car guarding it to see if anyone was near.
Clarke narrowed her eyes. "we left two days ago. Why haven't they fixed the gate?"
"Maybe because people with chips implanted into their minds who are numb to pain, obviously don't care about their gate or life," Alexander stated in an obvious tone. Earning an eye roll from Clarke.
