Mistake

Chapter 23

" Hey, it's alright, let's go talk inside," Jeff says.

 I walk in with Tyler and Daniel following me as I wipe the tears off of my face.

I saw mom there, I was happy that we all were here so that we could talk.

Well, almost everyone, Anna was in Europe on a trip with her friends.

" Christian, honey, what's wrong?" Keri hugs me.

 We sit down, and I could tell it was a little awkward for Tyler and Daniel.

We were a close family, which is why I'm not ashamed for expressing my emotions.

It doesn't happen often, that one in our house was an emotional wreck.

" We're all here for you," Jeff reminds me.

I nod, " Thank you."

" What's going on?"

Tyler, Daniel, and I all look at each other.

Then I start, " Melissa was arrested."

" Well, that's good, isn't it?" Keri asks.

" Yes, I just overwhelmed," I sigh, " Something almost happened, and I'm still shook."

 " Christian, we can explain if you don't want to," Daniel says softly.

I nod, " You can, I don't want to burst into tears."

" Melissa confessed to almost killing Christian," Daniel says.

" What?!" My parents both say in outrage.

" The night before we left, Christian and Melissa were on the balcony. When we got home, Christian told me that she tried to kiss him, but he didn't feel right so he left. Today at the police station, she confessed that she had a knife behind her back, and she was waiting for a chance," Daniel finishes.

 I was glad I didn't tell that, I would be a mess.

I was more traumatized than anything.

Just the thought of someone having so much hatred, that they even think of that just gets me.

" Where is she now?" Keri asks.

" She's in jail, I don't know for how long, but we also have a restraining order against her," I answer.

" Look, you three and Anna are the most important in our life. We will protect you, and anything you need help with, jut let us know," Jeff says.

" I think we need to get a new house," Tyler says.

 Daniel and I nodded.

 Our privacy was ripped away from us.

 " Alright, we will help you get a new house," Keri promises.
