Dear Draco,

Thank you for your letter, it made a not quite boring night a lot more interesting. The movie we ended up watching last night was rather slow, and a lot of people actually fell asleep so it became more of a group nap than a movie night. I'm surprised you even remembered where I would be. I do really enjoy reading letters however I've actually gone awry and am reading a play called Romeo and Juliet - it's a romantic tragedy by a muggle author back in the 1600s so I think you will struggle to even pretend to be interested.

I was confused as to what happened to the potion so I appreciate you clearing that up, you weren't joking about being good at potions because Snape seemed pleased with your swap. I definetly owe you one for that otherwise I would probably writing to you from detention. It does seem cruel that they are still making you practice in this cold weather, however I have heard it's suppose to start snowing in the next couple of days which I am personally looking forward to. I think hogwarts in the snow will make some beautiful scenery. I love it when it snows - it's like the world has been covered in a soft blanket and everyone goes quiet to let it sleep. Will you still have to practice if it snows? I don't know if you are still awake, you seem to barely sleep considering how late i find you in the kitchens, so i'll send this letter now incase you are - Goodnight Draco.

Yours Sincerely, Elena Cunningham.

P.S. I got your not so subtle hint about coming to the Slytherin common room.

I snuck up to the owlery and sent off the letter to the common room, hoping it would end up where it needed to be. I watched as the owl flew off into the darkness, the soft sound of flapping wings in the quiet night faded away.

------------------------------

At breakfast the owls came and delivered letters, howlers and parcels. I waited to see if Draco had responded. Instead a wrapped parcel was dropped in front of me, but no letter. He mustn't have had time to respond yet. I opened the parcel carefully. It was a cassette tape player and a mixtape. I had called in a favour with my sister to record on a list of songs which I hope she has done right. I left breakfast and wrote "Ron's Mixtape" on it and added a copy of the list of songs on it. I tried to make a range to see what sort of stuff he would like - The Beatles, Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Abba, Madonna, etc.

After I was done I went down the Gryffindor common room, gave the password and slipped in.

"Hey, has anyone seen Ron?" I asked one of the younger years who shrugged.

"He's probably still at breakfast." Someone said behind me. I turned to see George and thanked him, quickly dodging around him and back out of the door. I half ran to the hall - quite excited to see Ron react to all the music. When I got there I quickly spotted Harry, Ron and Hermione and got people to shuffle down so I could sit.

"Ron! glad I could catch you. Guess what arrived today?"

"A unicorn."

"Nope. Cassette tape." I held up the tape grinning.

"A what tape?"

"It's a way of listening to music. You record your favourite songs onto this," I nodded towards the tape "and play it on this!" I held up the player. I then noticed George listening in.

"Wait, how did you get here so fast?"

"What?"

"I half ran here and didn't see you arrive."

"What is she talking about?" George asked Ron who shrugged.

"I was just talking to George in the common room asking where you were." Harry, Ron and George all began laughing uncontrollably. "What?" I asked.
