After the ball I watched girls stream into the dorm and begin changing out of their gowns raving out their nights.

"I just so happened to see Elena didn't spend her night crying over Adrian." Lily said, suggestively wiggling her eyebrows at me. I laughed and gave an overexaggerated wink,

"Now that you mention it, I happened to see some flashy dance moves as well" Cassie chipped in as if she hasn't hung out with us that night.

"Lets just say Draco can be a bit of a show off."

"Chris is such an awful dancer, but gosh he is so handsome how could I even complain." One of the girls swooned dreamily. Lily sarcastically rolled her eyes and gently hit her arm.

"Alright! Keep it in your pants!" And with that the room filled with laughter. We all settles shortly after that - evidently exhausted. Almost everyone went to bed with a sleepy smile that night.

Unfortunatly wasn't quite as happily reminiscent of the ball. I went to the Gryffindor common room in a bit of a happy daze, primarily seeking out Hermione after having seen her with the Dumstrang champion Viktor Krum. Regrettably as Oliver Wood let me into the common room and fled back to his dorm I was faced with my three friends in a loud argument. Correction: I was met with Ron and Hermione in a gruesome verbal battle and Harry awkwardly sat nearby. I quickly went to double back out of the door.

"Elena! Don't you walk out I need you to prove a point!" Hermione ordered. I grimaced and slowly turned around from the door.

"Hermione! Wow, didn't see you there!" I awkwardly joked in a poor attempt to lighten the mood - only Harry chuckled.

"Oh, very funny. Can you tell Ron how utterly ridiculous he is being!"

"Oh we cant trust Elena to comment on this - she's equally guilty of flirting and fraternising with the enemy!" Ron span, putting emphasis on the words flirting and fraternising. He waved his hand dismissively of me.

"Wow. Okay. Imma just go." I felt taken aback, holding in a bitter response.

"Elena, don't listen to him he's just sticking his big nose where it doesn't belong." Hermione turned back to Ron. "Who me and Elena date is none of your business!"

Harry mouthed the word 'sorry' and I just shrugged as if to say 'what can you do?'.

"Sorry," I already knew I would regret letting myself get dragged into this "but since I am here can you guys tell me what you are arguing about? I was under the impression you liked Viktor?" I motioned to Ron.

"HA! Even Elena remembers you fanboying! Talk about fraternising with the enemy!"

"It was not fanboying - at least I wasn't spending the night smooching him. No. I was with Harry supporting our real champion!"

"You are so infuriating! This has nothing to do with whether or not we support Harry!" This argument went on for another ten minutes without any progress before Hermione stormed off up the stairs to the girls dorms and pointedly slammed the door. Ron groaned and slumped into a nearby armchair.

"You girls couldn't just save us the hassle and keep it in your pants, could you?" I scowled at Ron.

"Excuse me?" I could hear the drop in my voice.

"Atleast Hermione didn't lie about who she was going with - unless Malfoys changed his name to Adrian?" I huffed,

"For your information me and Adrian had a disagreement yesterday and decided to not go together. Draco was kind enough to have taken me because it sure beats the shitty alternative of having moped around all night with you!" Ron huffed loudly.
