Chapter 33.
~Elijah~
I entered the room where they locked in that son a bitch. He was bound on the chair looked like he spent an eternity in hell. I don’t know about before but he sure will beg to be dragged there before I’m done.
It didn’t seem like he was conscious as his bloody face was limp making his chin touch his chest. No clothes graced his body and several cuts marked him.
There was not one ounce of sympathy I felt for this sorry excuse of a man. In fact I think Dylan and his men did a really good job.
“Are you going to finish the job today?” I heard Dylan from behind me but I didn’t turn. It felt oddly satisfactory seeing him like this, so powerless and pathetic.
“I haven’t decided. A part of me wants Maya here. Get a few kicks of her own. But now that she’s pregnant, I’m hesitant. I don’t want his assholes presence anywhere near her or my child
“How is she doing?”
“Great but she still didn’t ask about this fucker which kind of worries me.” I said. It’s been two days since she was discharged from the hospital. Getting her settled and hopeful that she might ask me about him or talk to me about what had happened but there hasn’t been a peep about it.
“It’s something that takes times to get it over with.”
“I know and Maya being the strongest woman I know, will come through this. I know for sure of this.”
Dylan nodded and said. “So what are we going to do about him?”
I stared at Jackson, hatred brewing stronger in me with each passing minute. “Give me a few days and I’ll let you know. I need to know where Maya stands.”
“I need this inconvenience out of here as soon as possible.”
“You won’t have to deal with him for more than a day or two.” Hopefully that’s true.

~Maya~
Here in Elijahs bed I laid, waiting for him to come back with pizza as he promised. It’s been two days since I left the hospital and I couldn’t have been happier being stuck in Elijahs apartment. Or should I say, OUR apartment. It goes without saying that I have officially moved in here as all my stuff already was placed Elijahs room in there respected places. Clothes lined on the opposite side to Elijahs.
I had been stuck I this bed for the past two days with strict instructs from my dear Elijah. If he wasn’t with me, I had Kyle by my side and I couldn’t have asked for more. I had to practically throw him out a few hours ago when he got a call from Dave that he was waiting for Kyle.
I heard the front door slam shut and I sat up, waiting for him to enter. As soon as he did, I knew something was wrong. His posture was stiff and when his eyes locked to mine I had to stop myself from flinching. His eyes held a different sort of intensity that I had never seen before. The type that screams murder.
These two days have been nothing but bliss but I should’ve known. It never lasts. I have been able to not think about what had happened to me because I knew once I dug that hole. It would be nearly impossible to get out. I knew it wasn’t normal, but this is how I was going to deal with this.
“Elijah? Is everything okay?” My voice was hesitant as I stood up from the bed and took a tentative step towards him.
His eyes soften a bit and stepped towards me. “We need to talk angel.” And somehow the worst thing came into my mind. He was going to leave me. Me and our baby.
“About what?” My voice was calm, betraying how I actually felt inside. As if I was breaking into a million pieces.
He took a hold of my hands and sat on the bed, lifting me up to straddle his lap. Confused but hopeful I looked into his eyes, hoping to read any sign that would tell me why he is this way right now.
“Angel. I think we should talk.” He said softly and I nodded although my confusion rose. “We should talk about what happened in that basement and about Jackson.”
I froze completely. My mind went straight back to that hellish time even though I tried so hard not to.
“Is my sweetheart ready for me?” Jackson said as his fingers roughly played with my lips between my legs. “Are you wet for me baby?” his smile utterly horrific as he pushed his fingers in my dry as a sahara pussy.
My face might have been expressionless but tears of defeat and disgust ran down my temple.
“Wait till you see the present I have for you. He will be arriving soon enough to complete my original plan I had for you.” My heart was like it forgot how to beat. I could hardly take in enough air as his finger roughly took a rhythm that possible would scar me for life. “I will sell you to your planned buyer sweetheart and then finally he will let me fuck you after he’s done with you.”
“Maya. MAYA!” I felt someone shaking me hard. Shaking away those memories I so hard tried to not let consume me. I blinked away the blur realising I was crushed against Elijahs chest, feeling his heart pound as fast as mine did.
“I can’t do this.” I cried in his chest. My body shaking with the strength of my sobs that racked through my body.
“Shhh angel. Don’t worry. He can never hurt you again.” His hands ran up and down my spine, bringing me comfort with a way that only he can. “I promise you, after I’m done with him, he would with for mercy of death and I would make sure he won’t get it until he has paid for everything he made you go through.”
I stilled at his words as m blood turned cold with fear. Jackson is alive. “He’s alive?” My voice might as well be inaudible but Elijah heard it as his body tensed.
I pulled away from his embrace in time to see what looked like panic flash in his eyes. But it was there for merely a second before it was gone.
I pushed away and stood on my shaky legs moving a few steps backs. “What do you mean ‘after you are done with him’? Is he still alive?”
Elijah slowly stood up as if afraid of what my next step would be. To be honest even I didn’t knew. I didn’t know what to feel with this betrayal that seeped into my heart. Tears welled in my eyes all over again but this time they weren’t tears of pain but instead they were tears of anger.
Anger towards Jackson. Towards Elijah and towards this fucked up situation.
“Yes, he is alive.” A slap on the face would hurts far less than the truth Elijah bestowed upon me.
“I’ve been in pure bliss for the past two days thinking of ways about how much happiness my future held now that my past was over. But it wasn’t really over, was it? He escaped.” He tried to speak but I held my hand up too messed up to hear his pity words. “He can come back for me again. For my baby.” I placed my hands over my stomach as if to protect my baby.
“No no angel.” Elijah was on me in a snap. Before I could even blink, his hands held my upper arms tightly as to make sure I don’t escape him. “I have him captured in Dylan’s basement. He is there waiting for his faith that is worse than anyone can ever imagine. I just…”
“You just what Elijah?” I tried to get away from him but that only made him tighten his grasp. “If he is already in your custody, why is he still alive? What If he escapes and come backs?”
“That won’t happen.”
“And how can you be so sure? You should’ve just ended it when you had the chance.” I couldn’t believe the words that came out of my mouth but I was far too gone to care. That ma ahd ruined my life and death was too easy for him but I wanted that to happen. If I had a chance I would do it myself.
As if reading my mind Elijah roared “I didn’t because I want you to be the one who killed him.” I froze at his words. I wanted that. But didn’t at the same time. I wanted to be the one to kill the man who made me go through so much since I was a little girl. And this man, who stood right in front of me was giving me this opportunity.
As if he knew me far better than anyone else. Even myself.
I looked up in his eyes and saw what I’m pretty sure was reflected in mine as well. Determination. This was my chance to let go of the past and there was no way I was letting this stray out of my hands.
I had to do this to move ahead in my life. For Elijah, the baby and most importantly, myself.
