sicheng wasn't let go and obviously, yuta's mom wasn't going to let that happen and accept defeat, she made it to the court the next day, sitting next to sicheng on the table.

"will the defendant please stand," sicheng gets up shaking "you may read the verdict," the judge says to the jury foreperson

"ms. ito, you may begin with presenting the case of the defendant," the jury says and yuta's mom gets up confidently.

"ladies and gentlemen of the jury, i'd like to present this case with witnesses to support the fact that my client was not present at the sight of the murder as according to the time of death stated on the autopsy report and was indeed at work, the first one being his colleagues," she says and yuta gets up, does his vow and goes onto the stand.

"objection your honour! the witness happens to be ms. Ito's son," the prosecutor says

"is that true ms. ito?" the judge asks

"that is in fact true, however, he is relevant to this case your honour, he is a colleague of my client," she defends

"you may proceed," the judge says with a slight nod and the woman opens the case file.

"mr. nakamoto, is it true that you began your shift at 7 pm on the night of the murder?"

"yes,"

"was the defendant with you that very same time,"

"yes, he was there before i arrived,"

"and here is the evidence, your honour," ms. ito says and hands a file to the judge and the prosecutor with sicheng's shift timings and the judge nods. "and mr. nakamoto, can you explain to the jury the state of my client when he went home, you were with him, correct?" she formally says

"yes, i- he was shocked at first, as anyone would be if they were to lose their mothers and later on he was in a lot of emotional pain,"

"if i may, your honour, ask the witness a few questions of my own?"

"the witness is all yours," ms. ito says and she goes to sit down.

"mr. nakamoto, in what way do you relate to the defendant? and remember that you've been sworn in," the prosecutor says

"objection, your honour, the prosecutor is being suggestive, the witness is a colleague of my defendant as stated previously,"

"answer the prosecutor's question mr. nakamoto," the judge says and yuta nods

"i'm his colleague,"

"and..."

"your honour!" ms. ito repeats
