Alec walked into the Brooklyn loft he shared with his boyfriend. He wiped the tears streaming down his face. He got into another heated argument with his dad...again. Ever since he came out about being gay, his dad pretty much hated him. They would constantly argue and fight. It always made his mom and Izzy upset. This time the argument was about moving out of the institute and future plans with Magnus. His dad called him. "Stupid and worthless" His dad said he would never amount to anything. He told him he didn't care about him anymore. Alec came home to only the cat. Magnus was out with a client or something. He kicked his shoes off and started crying. He was shaking and sobbing uncontroably. Tears streaming down his face and taking short and heavy breaths. He eventually calmed down for a little bit, just enough to get up and get into bed. He pulled the blankets over his head and continued to cry. About an hour after crying, he heard Magnus come home. "Alec? Are you home? Babe?" he called out. Alec didn't want Magnus to see him cry. He turned the tear soaked pillow around and pretended to be asleep. He heard Magnus come into the bedroom they shared. Magnus chuckled and he felt him sit down next to him. Alec hoped that Magnus could tell he was asleep. Magnus reached over and stroked his cheek and kissed his cheek. "I love you Alexander." he whispered. Alec couldn't take it. Alec sat up and started crying again. Magnus was surprised. "Alec what happened?" he asked. As Alec was still crying, Magnus pulled Alec on his lap and rocked back and forth until Alec was able to settle down. "Baby what happened?" he whispered. "M-me and my d-dad. We f-fought again... He called m-me all these names and.." he started crying again. "Oh baby. It's okay. Settle down. Everything is okay." Alec looked up at his boyfriend. He had soft eyes looking back at him. Magnus kissed the tears away and still held him. "What...what did your dad say?" He asked. "He called me stupid and worthless and he didn't care about me." He almost started crying again until Magnus started rocking again.
"You shouldn't listen to your dad if all he does is insult you."
"But he's my dad."
"Doesn't mean you need to put up with him."
Alec sat in his arms for a little while until his crying became soft sniffles. Magnus looked down at him. "It'll be okay, love." He leaned down and kissed the top of his head. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"Forever and ever?"
"Forever and ever and a day."
Magnus laughed at that. He kissed his nose softly. Alec eventullay got off of his lap and laid in bed. "Come here and cuddle with me." Alec whined. Magnus chuckled and laid next to him. He wrapped his arms around his waist and smiled up at his boyfriend. Alec buried his face in his neck. "I'm tired." he muttered. "Then take a nap silly. I'll be here when you wake up." Alec finally fell asleep and Magnus kept his promise.
